Somebody else needs to weigh in on this because I'm not 100% confident but from things I've read, I don't believe the school, i.e., coaches can do the actual negotiating. That's done directly between the athlete and the collective.

After last night's doubleheader split in softball we have secured at a minimum a tie for the 23-24 season and the cup will remain with us as result of having won it last year. Next opportunity to secure the outright win is this coming weekend with both women's golf and women's tennis on the schedule.

Winning streak ends as PUke wins the second game 6-5. We used Kleiman, Copeland & Montgomery and each allowed 2 runs. We managed 7 hits with Parker our only batter to get 2 and she also had 3 RBI. Stone had our other 2. We still need .5 points to outright win the Governor's Cup but having secured at least a tie, the cup will remain in our possession for another year. Upcoming weekend we're on the road at Iowa (16-18) (4-8) who are on a 6-game losing streak.

Former Seton Hall star Dre Davis has committed to Ole Miss, per his agent Noah Reisenfeld of Young Money APAA Sports. Davis committed on his visit to Oxford. He averaged 15.0 ppg and 5.9 rpg for the NIT champion Pirates.
