There is so much negativity here right now, I just wanted to make it clear not everyone is screaming for a coaching change. Not trying to troll, just wanted to say I am not a fan of pulling the plug and start from scratch again. Add 4 frontcourt guys to this current team and we will be fine. Devin, OG, Morgan, and likely Bryant. I trust Crean is not happy with how this season finished. And I'm sure he is working to remedy that.

I can see why other Crean supporters are quiet. This site has made up its mind. We are a top 5 program and anyone who can't win at that level is below us. This place recruits itself. We are Indiana. Every coach would love to have this job (ridiculous fan base notwithstanding). When we won it was because or the players (who developed themselves) and when we lose it is on Crean. Players don't come here because of Crean (or they do in spite of him) and when they leave it's because they were Creaned. Wade fell in Crean's lap and Zeller felt sorry for Crean. I've heard it all. I choose to be positive and build on what we have. I think the pieces are in place. I'm confident the like-minded trustees and Glass agree, and their opinion is really all that matters.

I was replying to the poster who said he has only won one BIG title in 4 years. I think Crean is in the conversation with Ryan and Matta. Izzo is in his own class. Ryan and Matta are not in his class.

Which teams win their conference championship more than 25% of the time? I fear that most self-professed "Crean haters" have an unattainable threshold for success.

What makes you qualified to be the judge of who is capable? Not you personally, but I keep getting told I don't have good enough reasons to keep Crean. What makes other fans qualified to say he is not qualified but a guy who had success in the MVC is?

Seroiusly? Anyway, Miller Marshall and Stevens are publicly out or have been extended. Who is your guy now? Anyone but Crean right?

  No. I don't believe there is a coach that would "outwork" Crean. Dude is relentless.   Marshall and Miller would NOT get a visit from Bryant or Maker. They are Crean's recruits through and through. I'm not saying those guys couldn't learn on the job and develop those connections or hire an assistant to help, but is that what you wanted? A HC to learn on the job??   How many of the undecided McDonald's All Americans are considering Wichita State or Dayton??

I appreciate you allowing me to share my opinion. I like the dialogue. I don't intend to change any of your minds any more than you will change mine.

  If timing =money. Like $4 million+ for 6 years. Not happening. We've got to deal in reality.

  You're assuming Marshall can translate. Crean has shown he recruits Burger Boys. Marshall maybe can. 

  Bryant is a Crean recruit and heavy IU lean. If we're projecting he has to at least be in the equation. Be honest, we do not even get visits from Maker or Bryant with Marshall or Archie. They'd pee themselves if they met a 5-star recruit.

  Yes, after each of his successes he has has lost guys as NBA lottery picks. But people decry the oversign. Crean is in a lose-lose situation with this fanbase. 

  I fully expect IU to challenge for the BIG title, get a double bye in the BIG Tourney, and earn a top 2-3 NCAA seed. Should be ranked in top 10.   Or we fire Crean and start over.

  Big South/MVC vs BIG. Apples and oranges. IF we are splitting hairs, Crean has 3 sweet sixteens, Marshall has 2. 

  It's Crean man. And who is your pick to replace him?? 

  Fair. My point is why do we want to throw away a team with potential to be very good next year and beyond? Crean has proven he can win.   Sure Devin could never come back and Hanner could miss another month of games with an injury. Or maybe we finally have two senior leaders and juniors behind them in Troy, Collin and Devin ready to carry the torch. With a core of of 4 and 5 stars in JBJ, RJ, and Holt plus Bryant, OG, and Morgan. With a stud PG on the horizon. A balanced roster with leadership and continuity. Novel concept I know. Anything is possible.

  Crean has our only Big Ten title in 20 years and a team returning that even his detractors say should contend next season.  Let's hire a mid major coach with less success nationally and assume that is going to improve.

 And their junk zone. I hear Boheim is available in 3 years.   Sorry I got Crean's multiple sweet sixteen appearances mixed up. What business does a bad coach have with multiple sweet 16s anyway? That's also 1 more than Gregg Marshall has total in his 17 years...

  How true. We are all ASSuming.   Something tells me Marshall's record in the Big South and Missouri Valley Conference don't exactly compare to the Big Ten. But again I'm just assuming. Do you think the 3-star talent off his top recruits will translate to the Big Ten?

  Choked = lost to #1 seed KY in SEC country. I guess Notre Dame and Mike Brey choked last night too. Fire him.
