  1. A Google search for what? indiana basketball player marijuana? If their reports didn't come up then google needs some serious adjustment.
  2. Did you read my original post? Have any of them written anything more than the initial reporting on the incident? It's such a non story it's unbelievable the hysteria it's causing with some of you.
  3. I was remarking on the posters who are saying this looks bad for recruiting and that it shows that the institution has lost control. Incidents like this barely register with NCAA
  4. You guys should step out of the IU bubble. This incident is not even registering with national media outside of the initial report being published. The impact it has on reputation of IU is so minimal.
  5. DD wasn't caught with 30 grams. The citation said it was a small amount and it was less than 30 grams. If it was higher he would've been arrested I believe.
  6. I have no actual knowledge if they did or did not but if I had to guess at some point at least a couple of them tried it.
  7.   it is speculation but it is based on the consistent mentality on this site every time anything negative happens.  Stan and Troy's punishment for the multiple failed tests was the same punishment that every player on pretty much every team in the country receives for a second failed drug test yet people were calling for them to be kicked off. There's your evidence right there that there would be people calling for a player to be kicked off without any prior incident.   Kicking Devin off the team is way too heavy handed.  You are not teaching him or the other players on the team some grand lesson by kicking him off.
  8. Numerous people on here and elsewhere asked many times why Stan and Troy were still on the team after failing drug tests last year. If I had to guess many would still be calling for Devin to be kicked off even if he was not involved in the accident last year and had not gotten in trouble in the past.
  9. I understand the cumulative argument but I disagree. I think 4-8 games is fair and we move on. I don't think dismissing him will deter any of the guys on this team from changing how they act moving forward.
  10.   I can guarantee you that the actions of Devin on Monday will have zero impact on recruiting.
  11.   No one is saying don't hold the players accountable but it is a big leap to say he should be kicked off the team for this.  That's the disagreement here between many.
  12. Multiple incidents or not kicking a player off the team is really extreme for a misdemeanor.
  13. It's not about anarchy. It's about punishments matching crimes.
  14. The final four would be BYU, Navy, Army and VMI every year.
  15. The ignorance is amazing. If they kicked off every player on every school that smoked pot they would have to end college basketball.
  16. I hope you're kidding. There's nothing anyone on here could've done to prevent this
  17. Can someone point me to an instance in college basketball or football where a player was dismissed for what Devin did? Honestly curious if there's any precedent for that and how it matches these circumstances. I would guess it'd be hard to find but I could be wrong.
  18. Alaska did you read my post where I said specifically that the punishment laid out in what I quoted was correct? Please spare me the lecture on leadership or anything because clearly you lack the reading comprehension to actually read my post and understand my point. Devin should get a 4 game suspension and whatever internal punishment is needed. What he did in the grand scheme of things was not that big a deal but yeah it is punishable. My point is it would be a shame and a disservice to Devin to kick him off the team for something so minor. Some of you seriously need to get off your high horses and take a deep breath. That or continue to lecture a poster on the internet about leadership.
  19.   In all honesty the punishment you described fits the crime.  It is time for people to stop acting like this is some sort of crazy issue.  He was caught with a minimal amount of a drug that is incredibly commonplace in college and out of college.     It would be a shame and unfair for Crean to make an example out of Devin and kick him off the team because then the punishment is inconsistent with what other current players got for essentially the same thing.     This is not something Crean could've prevented by having more harsh penalties to Stan and Troy.  If Devin or any player is going to smoke weed in the offseason they will do it just like most players you've cheered for on any recent teams have done it.  The NFL is likely to end testing for marijuana during the next labor negotiations.  This is really not a big deal.
  20.   And get investigated for breaking federal privacy laws in the process?  Pretty sure you can't just release drug tests results for student athletes.
  21.   If you get caught smoking in the drivers seat of a car you could get a DUI even if you're parked.  Personally think the dorm is not the dumbest option and actually is probably one of the least likely places to get caught with proper precaution.
  22.   I am not talking about his credentials or what he was promoting, just saying what he did.     As 41 said earlier RAs turn the blind eye to 18 year olds drinking, which is also illegal and has much more dire consequences when abused.  If you think these things aren't going on and RAs don't know about it you are being willfully ignorant to what goes on at college.
  23.   The flip side of this.  My friend had an RA in Briscoe who was totally ok with residents smoked and would allow it in his room.  He would get on the RA walkie talkie system when this was happening and volunteer to do rounds or check if anyone was to make sure it was all in the clear.

IU and the Maui Classic 2015

[attachment=2097:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1430423714.603281.jpg] FYI doesn't look like going is a real option unless you're a booster.

    Interesting Q&A with Coach Wilson

Haha of course.  I pretty much said the same thing last year except it was go into the Mizzou game undefeated.  Then we lost at BGSU.     One of these years things have to turn right?  I mean even Kansas made it to a BCS bowl a few times and Baylor is now a national contender.    This is without a doubt the most talented defense we've had in years, that along with an offense that should get back on track with Sudfeld at the helm gives me some legitimate optimism going into this year.  Of course if we lost at Wake Forest that will go down the drain.
