If Oakland wins, Rupp's Rafters will be worth a look tonight in a "Hey, look at that car wreck" kind of way.

Mike Woodson is watching this Oakland performance and saying, I still believe college basketball is won by playing inside out.

Alford is a way better coach and basketball program manager than Woodson, I’ll take him any day over Woodson

It’s ok, we have Woodson for 4-5 more years. Thats enough time for May to prove himself and get tired of UL.

This is true. I don’t detest it much, I just wish we were good at it.

Fire Mike Woodson. And I know there is history with his sister, but Gottlieb has been talking about how difficult UVA has had it with the NIL and portal era. Much like Michigan, they don’t accept many transfers. Any chance we could take a big swing for Bennett to get him where he’d have all the resources. pinning this for this time next year lol

Houston doesn’t play a single person over 6’8 and Iowa St has one 6’10 kid who comes off the bench. Easily the two best defensive teams in the country. Their guards are elite defenders and rebound exceptionally well.

Team definitely needs a rim protector in the portal. He doesn’t need to play 30 mpg alongside Reneau however.

Could go for a box of thin mints right about now.

No we don’t. We immediately lower our floor the second we commit to playing two traditional big men. Reneau is not a modern 4 in any sense of the word. He’s a small ball 5 who you can protect with good perimeter defense and guards that can rebound. The less minutes Reneau plays alongside a 5, the better chance this team has. It was painfully obvious watching this team try and play two bigs at all times last year. And the two years before with Trayce and Race. IT DOESN’T WORK.

I’m not sure that things are going to workout great in the portal for IU but it does sound like they’re gaining traction with Carlyle

Rabby is saying that should be it for the portal for Indiana.
Ware & Mgbako will declare but at least Mgbako should be back.
Reneau and Cupps coming back unless something drastically changes

Man, if Woodson strikes out in the portal I’m gonna feel so guilty as fan knowing it was all my fault.

That was the initial plan. But then Texas A&M and other schools in the SEC and OSU started to splash the cash for the best players for pay for play. They do this bc the players talent brings them the value and they need the talent to be competitive. The NCAA tried to crack down and got sued and lost. And are now being sued again by Virginia and Tennessee so the NCAA isn’t investigating any NIL issues moving forward and stopped any investigations they had going. We are in the pay for play being legal for all schools and not just Duke. UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, etc. this actually benefits IU, since they have a strong NIL program for men’s basketball. They just need to get the coaching figured out.
edit: Schools can now help steer athletes to NIL deals. It’s why you see schools hiring GM’s to help with that function.

As a normal person I wouldn’t give either. But say all $6 million in NIL comes from the richest person in Indiana, who has a $6 billion net worth. That’s the same as someone with $100,000 net worth giving $100 to NIL. I know people who spend more than $100 on Girl Scout cookies, because well….thin mints are good. Lol

Hahaha that is chump change for that cookie pyramid scheme! I owe my 6yo dealer, who lives in my house and my wife leads, for 2 cases of cookies. They got me bad this year and are trying to pry some more money out of me now!

Maybe they meant that he likes to play tic-tac-toe against himself during game planning meetings.
