    TOM CREAN FIRED

Great win lastnight vs Iowa. Still doesn't change my opinion on Crean though. I wanted him gone after last season and feel he needs to accomplish plush something this season. Win the conference (doesn't even need to be outright), win the conference tournament, make a final four, or win a national championship. If he can do any of that, I will be on board with keeping him around. If Crean can win something, then I can't see Glass making a move. Stevens is doing well and isn't coming. He has been my hope for a few years now. There are some quality coaches out there to be had, but would they really be better than Crean? My standard is conference success bc the NCAAs can be a crap shoot. Guys like Archie Miller haven't shown they can win or stay in the hunt of their conferences on a yearly basis. There are only a handful of coaches out there that have done that. When I see their names floated around (Marshall, Bryce Drew, etc) people usually start tearing them apart. Stevens is the only guy who would unite the fanbase if a change were made. Crean could unite the fanbase if he hangs a national title. Sadly, I don't think either is happening in the near future.

Great game by the Hoosiers. The refs sucked. Happy for the win. I've seen a few ppl mention seeding in the dance. Who cares about seeding. Win the Big Ten conference and the seeding will take care of itself. Let's not just settle to be happy with a decent seed. Let's actually have a team that wins something, be it the conference or conference tournament. Go Hoosiers!

The problem with a placeholder is it holds the program hostage. If it's Stevens then there has to be a timeline for the change or it's not a good idea imo. Sitting there without an end game idea of when a move will be made just keeps IU in mediocrity. Maybe Glass knows the timeline, maybe he doesn't. I know he is a smart guy and I don't buy the fanboy image some say he has towards Crean.

    Indiana @ Michigan Post-Game Thread

Fantastic game. I wasn't impressed with the last 2 games prior to the Michigan game. I was hopeful Michigan would cure that, as Crean has done well vs them. Crean is still very much in prove it to me mode, imo. Happy for the team and Crean for the big win. Keep the momentum going and win the conference.

Logged in just to say WOW!!! THAT WAS FUN!!! I was pissed at how the game started. Great turnaround and amazing way to finish a half. Keep it up and get a quality road win. Go Hoosiers!

Indiana v. Minnesota - Post Game Thread

Then we disagree. I have zero faith in Creans teams to bounce back and finish strong after the swoon starts. I think Michigan is the key game. Lose that and you have lost 2/3 and the game you won was against a terrible gopher team, that you played terrible in. That doesn't bode well when you have to play Iowa 2x, Purdue, MSU, and Maryland. Beat Michigan and PSU, while playing good ball and the confidence can grow. So next week is huge. need to be playing well when Iowa rolls into Bloomington.

The end of season swoon doesn't just mean losses. It means playing like crap. The team lost to Wisconsin and played terrible in a win vs Minnesota. We will find out if the swoon has officially started next week. Thankfully, Crean has done well vs Michigan. Lose that game though and it could mean trouble the rest of the way.

Anyone else pick up the comment during the Wisconsin game, from the announcers, saying Crean and staff talk better than any staff? I just laughed when I heard it. I want Crean gone as much as the next guy, but we will have to see how the season plays out. February/March could settle the waters or make his seat so hot he has to go.

IU vs Wisconsin Post Game Thread

Refs were bad, but they were bad both ways. Turnovers, defense, lack of defensive adjustments, and lack of assists are what lost the game. 1 more cupcake before the tough schedule starts. Minnesota is an easy win. If we lose to Michigan that would be losses in 2/3 and a bad sign.

    Lol. Well ok then. :)
  11. There has been a lot of negativity this season. The team is playing at a high level at the moment. How much will the rest of the season impact recruiting for the 2017 class? Especially since it's got several quality local prospects.
  12. Howard is a point guard and we are losing a point guard. Newkirk should start, but I love the idea of having 2 true points on the roster. When Newkirk graduates, Howard steps in as an upper class man to lead for 2 seasons. Maybe Howard beats our Newkirk. Other guards can fill in as combo guards. I say we welcome him with open arms. Come on down Mr Howard.

    2017 IUBB recruiting

I'd be interested to hear this as well. I've heard high school coaches in state are starting to be turned off by Crean. Which is trouble of true. Love to hear why Wilkes wouldn't play for Crean and how true the High school coaching rumors are.

Yeah bc extra phone calls, which aren't illegal anymore, completely makes everything he says for the rest of his life worth nothing... It wasn't just Sampson that said that about Crean. Announcers have said it. Marquette fans complained about it. IU fans have seen it happen almost every single year.
  15. No, it's not too early. Before the season started I felt the team was the most talented if Bryant was solid. He is solid and we Have the best talent. Already have a 2 game lead over everyone but Iowa. If we don't finish in the top 2, then the team struggled down the stretch again.

Now: 1a) Iowa 1b) Indiana 3) Maryland 4) Michigan End of Season: 1)Indiana 2) Iowa 3)Purdue 4) Michigan Indiana and Iowa have a 2 game lead on everyone else. Both with tough road games this week, Indiana @ Wisc and Iowa @ Maryland. If one of those teams can win and the other loses, then that team has a distinct advantage in my opinion. While the Feb schedule toughens up for IU it's still there for the taking. Avoiding the swoon will mean IU wins the conference. I think Maryland, PU, and MSU are already out of it or on the brink of being out of the race. 3 losses will win the conference outright. 4 losses and it could be a split.

    are you serious?

I accidentally called him Jordan Albers, by mistake, on scout one day and he lost it. He is a clown and the only reason I went to that sight was bc of Terry. Albers is a pompous tool who went on to tell me and other how hard he works and everyone will know his name bc he is going to the top. Top of the tool list maybe.

    (2016) ATH Kiante Enis

Yep. He just landed a top ATH and more to come. I do think Enis is a quality athlete and would be great in a spread system that Wilson runs.

    (2016) ATH Kiante Enis

Brady Hoke rescinds offers, Harbaugh doesn't. Though Harbaugh has been letting kids go recently to make room for some elite prospects. I don't think Harbaugh realized how many top guys would be interested in Michigan when he took a lot of commits early. After a great first season there are more interested than spots available. Time to make room.

    (2016) ATH Kiante Enis

As a Michigan football/IU Basketball fan I follow um recruiting as passionately as IU hoops recruiting. Enid opening up his recruitment has been known for awhile amongst Michigan fans. Seems like a good prospect but Michigan needs room for others. Also, IU definitely could offer more playing time and most Michigan fans think he is Bloomongton bound now.

    TOM CREAN FIRED

No I would say MSU is underachieving. There are no great teams this season. I had IU going undefeated through January this year, even after the Maui losses. I'm thrilled that IU is blowing out inferior competition at home. We haven't played as well on the road though. Wisconsin will be tough. To me Creans job isn't going to become safe just bc he is on a run bs inferior opponents everyone thought we would beat anyway. His seat will be cool or burning depending on what happens on Feb/March. Crean has a tremendous opportunity to win the Big Ten this year. Weak schedule, front runners are struggling, and possibly a 2+ game lead of who I think are the serious threats (Maryland,Purdue, MSU) to start Feb. We only play those 3 teams once each and 2 are at home. Iowa is playing well but when I watch them play, I just think they will drop 5-6 games to end the year and be out of it. Our schedule gets stiff come February. Creans teams usually peak by the end of January. If that trend continues we will fall off and nobody will care about beating the crap teams. If he can keep developing the team, then we can see a Big Ten Championship and Crean is safe for another 3 years. Nobody is going to fire a coach after he wins a conference title twice in 4 years, nor should they. Crean wins the conference and I will be back in his corner. He just has to prove it.
  24. So where is Wilkes leaning?

    TOM CREAN FIRED

I think anyone who thought we would have a loss in conference at this point completely underestimated how bad the bottom half of the BIG is right now. I hope Crean can turn the corner against the Feb/March swoon. Until he actually proves it, I want him fired. He could win 20 in a row vs crap teams and it would mean little to me. A team has to be able to finish a season strong.
