  2. This is actually an interesting conversation. I think IU has recognized this and there has been sommeeewhaatt of a change to the early offers both in and out of the state. The weird thing about the in-state crowd is whatever strategy you go with, you have to go with. Right now I know of one 2018 situation they've gotten themselves in some trouble with by offering others. These kids all know each other in-state and if player A has and offer player B at the same position sees it as a slap in the face, per se.

Also, the early recruitment has some backlash with some recruits. For some, it's totally positive. "IU was the first to believe in me, they've been there since the beginning, I'm a hoosier." Others, it gets stale. How you read that going into a recruitment....idk. But there is room for improvement from this staff.

I'm not sure I have the empirical data to support that IU is changing the early offer philosophy- someone could certainly figure it out- but I've heard it's something the staff is aware of.

The 2018 situation is Eric Hunter? Or is there another one? And how big of a deal do you think that is?

  3. With the sub rules in college soccer, I'm sure they could bring in Lomeli with a few minutes left if PK's are likely. In the 2014 World Cup, Holland used their last sub(only 3 allowed) to bring in a keeper just for the shootout. There were several games this year that Webb kept IU in the game to at least get a result; he shouldn't be shunned solely based on a potential shootout.

Right I'm not disagreeing, I have been a big fan of Webb. I would not have made the move especially since Lomeli was planning to redshirt and be the guy next year. However, Lomeli is really good and i would say as good or better than Webb

  4. Here's my general impression. Still no Webb.

I don't think you will see Webb again. They are riding with Lomeli. I don't know if I would have made the move, because Webb is a great keeper, but Lomeli is just as good and is definitely better with PK's. With our offense, PK's are very likely to come into play at some point
