Stop losing to Penn State, Northwestern, Rutgers, and Nebraska. 1-7 this year against those programs was unacceptable.
I know Nebraska and Northwestern were NCAA teams, but going 0-3 against them and not being competitive is down right BS.

I love the NCAA tournament but I’ll never gauge a seasons success on it. Crazy things happen in the tournament is what makes it an amazing month. Regular season success is a better indicator of a program. And eventually with sustained regular season success a program with the resources IU has will break through in March. Going off of the NCAA tournament to gauge success is like saying IU has only had 5 successful seasons in their history. 

I’m not going to have any expectations.  Show me!

I'll admit that apathy has set in for me to a certain degree so I'm a bit biased toward the negative. I think we struggle to be top 1/3 in the conference, early exit (2nd round) in NCAAT. 

My expectation is finishing about 6th, getting a 9 seed and bounced.
I expect to have a rough to watch offense.
I expect we will good in a few games and look really bad in the others.
I expect Mike Woodson to say the word "hump" more than we hit 3's
I expect to see a lot of bricks at the FT line from Ballo and Gallo.
I expect Reneau to take on 3 dudes at once and either put up a terrible shot or turn it over.
I expect Reneau to foul a dude 38.5 feet from the basket reaching in when he's already got 3 fouls and there's 17 minutes left in the game.
I expect Gallos hair to be flawless.
I expect Leal to split the bench but look like the only guy who knows what's happening when he's on the court.
I expect to have the Fire Woody thread opened back up 3/4 through the season.

Not sure how anyone could have watched this coaching staff operate the last three years and think that because IU suddenly has Rice and Carlyle in the backcourt that that will lead to a significantly increased 3 point shooting volume. 
IU has had playmakers, shooters, etc., over the last three years and still played post dominant. They just spent $1+ million on Ballo, and lord knows how much to retain Reneau. The offense is still going to be post dominant.

That’s my vote by a long STRETCH. get him.

Respectfully, I don't care what Trey Galloway does in his free time, assuming he stays within the law. I am not his judge or parent, nor do I know him.

Yep. He was always going to get players, no one said he wouldn't, especially with 6m to spend. He's still the same Mike Woodson that has admitted the 3 isn't a point of emphasis. The same Mike Woodson that got fired from the Knicks after his teams had the same problems we're seeing here, then never got another HC gig.
And if Chris is right that Woodson is already tired of this portal season it just shows he wants the NIL money to be a substitute for actually doing part of the job he was hired for.

I don't have a problem with them spending money. I have a problem that they're doing it so much now just to avoid having to admit it was a mistake to hire a guy no one else would've answered the phone for.

Yeah that is a nope from me.  I have been told that the Woodson system is going to be a winner at Indiana and we just had a player problem (sidebar: funny how guys like Tyme think it is a crime to talk bad about the staff or to question guys like Leal and his statements at senior night while they basically **** on the players for not being good enough to execute Woodson's brilliant strategy...I digress though).
So anyways, he got the money and they are claiming they now have the players and they have landed them in the way future rosters should be built (i.e. minimal HS recruits) then the expectation should be to win now.  He has 2 former Freshman of the year players on his team.  A super senior from Arizona. A Junior Reneau who at least offensively was a bucket.  He has dynamic guards.  He has another 5* HS wing.  He has a really good 6th man in Galloway.  If he drops another 22-12 TJD last season-esque performance then he is never going to be the dude.  It isn't worth wasting another year on a then 67 year old guy whose ceiling is mediocre even with a huge payroll.  12-8 is really pretty garbage based on how much bragging they are doing right now.  This isn't a 45 year old who has time to figure it out.

I tend to agree. It’s sad, but it’s actually more frustrating that this fanbase just wants a winner to root for. The vitriol from some of those accounts makes me think some of them are directly connected to program to want to get back at people and dunk on people for landing good players. Seriously just dividing the fanbase even more.

Wholeheartedly disagree, you’re just engaging in wishful thinking. 3 straight years of bottom outside shooting is scheme. No idea why you want to believe otherwise but we can stop here we’re not going to agree.

Except UConn didn't play 2 bigs. Karaban was the 4. Completely different player and skill set than Reneau.

Nah, you don't get to claim objectivity and state that in defense of Mike Woodson.  Every one of Woodson's detractors understands the importance of guard play.  That is the reason they have been complaining about running Race and Trayce together.  Running Reneau and Ware in at the same time.  Failing to go and secure better guards to the point of leaving a scholarship open instead of landing one.
Mike Woodson doesn't deserve any kind of credit for doing the type of things that non-NBA coaching experienced, dumbasses on message boards have been saying needs done every offseason since he got here.  "Hey overpaid, arrogant dipshit, congrats on finally doing what everybody and their grandma has been telling you to do since you got here (at least when it comes to recruiting).  It only took enough people to seriously advocate firing you for you to figure out."
Why do we give out brownie points to a guy who HAS to fill up half his team and was kicked millions of extra dollars by billionaire buddies to go get players?  Of course he was going to get some guys.  He woke up and remembered to breath today, wanna give him an award for that too?
Here, Good job Mike.  You have apparently met the most basic requirements of your job by getting some what appear to be good players.  Now the real test comes in.  He has assembled what I am told are gourmet ingredients.  So I expect more than a classy ingredient Big Mac next year.  That is where chefs make their hay.  Anybody with money and access can acquire ingredients, the proof is in the taste and presentation.

How much of that usage was tossing it into the post and letting him go to work vs. movement to get him an advantage to score?

If we toss the ball into the post and stand around for another season we won’t be near as successful as we could be.

Would love to see UCONNs stats regarding % of plays in the post if that stat exist. I didn’t watch a lot of UCONN this season but I didn’t see a lot of tossing it into the post and standing around waiting for Clingan to shoot. Having a 4 that can shoot from outside helps along with attacking guards and wings that can score. Basically, they were exactly like IU in that they put 5 players on the court.

It is though. Woodson plays through the post, we shoot from outside by volume at the bottom of DI ball. What remains to be seen is whether Woodson will wake up from 70s-80s basketball and emphasize outside shooting.
