Kids been a top priority since the summer months. Kid has the length this staff likes. Great athleticism. Reminds me of a Bedford. Maybe not as ready as we saw from Bedford on Saturday, but can develop to become a book end at tackle. Lots to like from his tape. If we land him it will be nice to see Bedford and him playing together unless rafferty gets a hold on that position, but I’d like to see the flexibility to moving raferty to guard, just to see him get playing time. I’ve heard great things about him. CBs to Stanford. I’ll have to see what I can find out. Would be second OL lost to them this class....I know they gave him looks this summer, but didn’t think they were in the running from what I had heard he liked IU and Illinois.

Coaches are still trying to get him to flip. He was a lot more athletic than what they first thought of him. He’s developed tremendously over the past year or so. Would love to get him. Will be a tough battle

And that’s the crazy thing isn’t it yet don’t worry let’s fire him and move on, lol we still have a great shot to do some good things, yet nobody who’s negatively attacked this team and Allen...will talk about the possibly attainable things....it’s poo poo because we haven’t won a huge game yet....which equates to our season is over. Do I think there’d be small interest...possibly....Ik the staff was high on him coming out of hs with his versatility... nothing has come out yet and I’m not sure anything will now that Cameron Heyward has entered the portal. Means possibly more touches for Jefferson in the slot or Rb. And the writer seemed to be iffy on the transfer of Jefferson. I figured I’d just post just in case something happens in the coming months.

He doesn’t play QB for MSU. He has played wildcat QB from time to time but out of hs we recruited him as a QB but if that didn’t work backup was a WR or RB. MSU uses him primarily as a 3rd down back and pass block guy this season. He’s been a RB/slot guy this season and last.

Interesting things here possibly. I’d love to see what develops here. MSU beat writer was on big ten channel on Sirius. Cameron Heyward a rb/slot kid just announced his transfer from MSU. The beat writer also mentioned that there were rumblings that Ladarius is thinking about or was thinking about transferring.

But then again there’s a cool story about how when he told coach Allen he wanted to commit, he brought up the amount of years it’s been since a bowl, since a winning season, and winning a bowl...etc....he supposedly listed all those numbers and said coach I’m coming here to change those.

Lol I get that! And many recruiting sites and even IU beat writers have mentioned that if he was 6’ and still weighed what he does he would have been a 5*. Size is what held his rating to a high 3* and low 4* on most sites.

Fun fact. Stewart had over 100 yards against other dbs and leads big ten in yards. Can we just start him already. I’ll be happy to give him a few mistakes here and there but at least he plays hard. Kid picked up an offer a while back and I thought I added him. Kid is a playmaker and has top talent speed. Reads the field well and plays bigger than his size that’s indicated. We are still working hard to get him to flip, will be hard...but this was a torn decision. Family wanted him at IU and to stay in state and play for Tom Allen, but obviously it’s hard to pass up a program that turns out good DLine. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

There seems to be some pick up in his recruitment from our end, guess the coaches liked what they saw in person....I’d expect him to move inside tho...for me he’s not athletic enough to move laterally as a tackle. Even tho his rating isn’t what most would like....he seems to have a mean streak when he wants and dominates when he plays.

So I haven’t touched on recruiting that much mainly because it’s been dead period and that just ended recently. Coaches will be going back out this week, per toms press conference today....where idk im sure we will see later this week. On Charlie it looks like he is a preferred walk on priority and will have the opportunity to earn a scholly should he decide to enroll at IU. Scholly would come sooner rather than later once he’s on campus. So good for him he’d be a terrific add and get by this staff. It’s basically between us TN, IN state, and Michigan.

Then the argument of why did we do so many east and west throws, because those were basically run plays even tho they were passes. It allowed slots or RBs to get out and turn upfield which most of those gains turned in to gains that would be equal to runs. Yes I’m still scratching my head at the three straight inside tackle runs....not disagreeing there but the arguments on play calls like screen passes were designed to be like runs....to get you some yards on early downs....if we went over the top or deep throws every negative Nancy on here would have been like why are we throwing downfield every play.....why are we setting ourselves up for a 3rd and long every drive....well those screen passes setup 3rd and shorts and we ran several times to get a first down and sustain a drive....or we hit a hitch or short crossing pattern to get the first when they thought we would run.....would I have liked to see more of an RPO instead of 3 straight inside runs heck yeah....but the only time we saw them allow Penix to run was on that bootleg where he ran for a TD. I feel like the game plan was to setup as an option but no matter what we were going to limit hits he took. That’s why there were so many east and west throws throughout the game.

So you’re just choosing to ignore the main factor in who has built this team and recruited the players they have right now....and the talent on the back end of the seniority levels....got it. The one person who hasn’t really shined in this whole scenario is the DC hire. The scheme was not run correctly many times on 3rd and Longs, and Allen let him hear it....too many times I see oh he’s a cheerleader....well maybe he’s still developing because I though Allen was going to kill Womack right there on the 40 yard line when he was up in his face. Yeah it’s allens team, but he’s handed over play calling like we wanted him to and now the same people are mad....we don’t want a conservative offense but in certain situations you have to be....was that situation a good spot...probably not....then I’ve seen we can’t have an explosive offense because that screws our defense....so what do you want? A whole new staff once again? You want 4years of rebuilding? You want recruits to leave? Because with the free market out there that will for sure happen, and where was this outrage when Wilson got into tight situations and switched up his play calling? His whole offense shrunk when it came down to the end of the game. Not to mention where was the outrage with a Wilson and all of his mistakes and blown finishes? If you’re gonna call it one way....call it the other. Because to me it seems like you’re in a very skinny short sighted tunnel. I’m referring to tunnel vision.
