I worried before the season started how long it was going to take our guys to adapt to Archie's system. Completely different philosophies on both sides of the ball. What bothers me is the lack of effort from the upperclassman. Juwan Morgan and Robert Johnson have so much more in them. It's frustrating. Not hard to readily identify who gives a purdue person and who doesn't.

I agree. They give us the best chance to win. Could really use Hartman.

I think people are really losing sight of this. I'm in the camp that thinks Phinisee is much better than his ranking and is a great TRUE point guard...... need Romeo though. If we lose Romeo to Vandy, I'll probably never invest another minute of my life watching/tracking/supporting Indiana's top players. It will hurt that much.

All of these Vandy picks are creating way too much smoke for me not to think there'S something there. Legit question.... how often does this type of swing happen in the crytal ball for them to all be wrong? I'd bet that it's not very likely at all. I'd love to be optimistic here but I'm just not feeling it. The fact Romeo has Vandy in his final 3 convinced me that Garland is going there and he has knowledge of it. There is zero reason for Vandy to be on his list of 3 other than to play with Garland. Not buying any other rationalization. They all seem desperate.

Based on my gut and reading into tea leaves. No inside info. I don't mean to offend but if the last few years have taught me anything, it's that those claiming to have inside knowledge, are usually wrong. I believe Pap. That's it.........I've always felt Garland was Vandy bound. Not upset at all if he does what I expect him to do. I'm extremely impressed with how fast the staff made up ground. There will always be another recruit to step in and fill the void the last one left. Personally I'm excited about an upper classman Devonte Green and Robert Phinissee. I personally want Hurt the most of all of them. I want the best players we can possibly get and Hurt is a notch or two above anyone else in that class, that we are in it with.

My gut tells me that we end up with TJD, Brooks, and Matthew Hurt. Trendon goes to Bama.

Truth. I had to take a step back a little more than a year ago and realize just how crazy and irrational I was being.

You and I are on the same page. Securing the Garland commitment is huge. Something nobody is mentioning but I feel can't be overlooked is Vandy being a real threat. Garland commits to Vandy, Shittu could follow shortly after. Gotta get Garland, otherwise Langford becomes harder to secure. My prediction is that Garland stays in Nashville and we win a dogfight for Romeo in the spring.

The momentum will be insane if we land both of these guys. We will likely end with the #1 or #2 recruiting class, in the nation, in Archie's first recruiting cycle. A recruiting cycle that he got a late start on. We are going to have 2018 5* kids that want to come to IU and won't be able to bc others jumped first.

I feel like the Garland announcement is our biggest piece left, in regards to landing Romeo. So far we've done everything right to earn his commitment. I feel like a Garland commitment would be the final push he needs to announce for us.

The fact Archie was in New Albany today speaks volumes. I was telling myself that we will see who is sweating and who's sleeping well by how active they are on the recruiting trail, immediately after news breaks. This isn't an NCAA Investigation where the guilty can just deny and likely get away with it, or worst case, lose their jobs. This is a criminal case. Chuck Persons is looking at possibly 80 years!!!!! I cannot imagine a guilty party being in the proper headspace to go out crootin..... Tom Crean stock has never been so high.... seriously.

I feel pretty good about our current staff. My only concern is that Ed Schilling is tied to Adidas and has recruited well the past few years. This is going to cause the landscape of CBB to be re-graded. Hopefully it levels the playing field. I'll be shocked if Calipari, Boeheim, and possibly Coach K, aren't tied to any of this.
