I’ve watched him play several times. I can guarantee you he’ll be super fundamental coming from Moeller, the best basketball program in Ohio. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

“Their academics are top notch, along with most Big Ten schools. Their facilities are top notch. They’re probably the best facilities I’ve seen. The culture there, the atmosphere in games, the atmosphere around campus, I love it,” Duncomb told Peegs.com this season about IU. The facilities comment stood out to me. Archie has made that a priority over the past few years and it seems to be paying off. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Comment from Price on committing in the midst of the pandemic without ever visiting campus: "We had a virtual official and the video I got sent had girls scrapping and large passionate crowds and it felt like where I am from in Melbourne from that point of view, I love fan bases that are all in." -

That tournament run was incredible. I was a Freshman walk-on at Oral Roberts University in 80-81 and we played IU at Market Square Arena in Dec ‘80. We lost by 9. Needless to say, I did not play. That IU team at that point, despite the ridiculous talent level, just wasn’t very good. Offensively, they were a mess. Tolbert and Turner were constantly running into each other and ending up in the same space. Turner couldn’t figure out his reads at all. Our 2 bigs, Mark Acres and Tom Prusater, absolutely outplayed them. And our pg, Cat Johnson, who may have been the quickest on ball defender in the country, was able to keep Isiah out of the lane and generally pissed him off. But we couldn’t really match up with Wittman and, in particular, Kitchell. Those 2 bailed them out. RMK was shockingly calm given how far off they were, except for Turner, who he was just killing. And, yeah, the growth of that group from December to March was pretty astounding, though you knew it was gonna come eventually. Watched the NC game with teammates and we were amazed at what Isiah did to Jimmy Black after Cat played him even or better. Haven’t talked to him in years, but I guarantee you Cat still talks about what he did to Isiah the way people talk about what Dakich did to Jordan. -

Don't recall we typically start a thread for a walk-on so I'll put this here. New preferred walk-on for next season, Sebastien Scott from California. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-class-of-2020-guard-sebastien-scott-to-be-preferred-walk-on-for-hoosiers/ -

6'1" Australian with some impressive background per HoosierSportsReport: Price has been one of the top talents down under in recent years, representing her home country on the U15, U16 and U17 national teams. She was also selected to attend the NBA Basketball Without Borders Asia Camp in 2018 and received a scholarship from the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence. Price has also been a member of the Melbourne Boomers in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) as a reserve. She comes by her talent honestly, as her mother Simone, played nearly 150 games for the Boomers. FIBA Stats WNBL Summary Video - All A Year Old -

(2020) G Brayton Bailey (Damon's son)
IUsafety and 4 others reacted to Class of '66 Old Fart for a post in a topic
Bedford North Lawrence senior Brayton Bailey ended his recruitment saga on Monday when he committed to the University of Saint Francis. Bailey, who averaged 20.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists last season, will join the NAIA power, which has posted eight 20-plus wins the last 10 years and advanced to the NAIA national championship game three times in that span. The Cougars went 21–11 last season under head coach Chad LaCross, who was voted the NAIA Div. II national coach of the year in 2016 and owns an impressive 239-105 record in 10 seasons. Bailey chose Saint Francis over offers from Western Kentucky (as a preferred walk-on), Lindsey Wilson and Bethel. ”They’ve always been there, the coaches have been so loyal to me,” Bailey said after announcing the decision. “As soon as I went there to visit, I could tell it was a place I wanted to play. Their style of play is similar to what I would like, so it’s a good fit.” Bailey finished second on the school’s career scoring list with 1,579 points. But his forte has always been penetration with a pass-first, shoot-second mentality. “I do best with a ball screen and an attack offense where I can create,” Bailey said. “It will fit well with them, because they have a whole team of shooters, so I can get in and distract people and get it out to them.” Bailey expects to make an immediate impact with Saint Francis, which competes in the Crossroad League with Bethel, Grace, Goshen, Huntington, Indiana Wesleyan, Marian, Mount Vernon Nazarene, Spring Arbor and Taylor. “It was just a matter of liking it and if I fit,” Bailey said. “I don’t care about that (the small school). It’s all about where I would be most comfortable and enjoying it the most. They’re definitely known for small-ball kind of group, being scrappy and doing whatever it takes to win, which I like. ”At BNL, we played Jeffersonville, Bloomington South, Warren Central, we got the strength of schedule, which really helped. If I can play against Tre Coleman (an Indiana All-Star) that’s going to Nevada, if I can play against Division I talent, it proves I can play with anyone. It was good preparation for the next step.” Brayton Bailey finished second on BNL’s career scoring list. Bailey, after calling the Saint Francis staff, made his decision known on social media and his phone immediately started to bing with messages and calls. He was relieved to get the choice out of the way. “It feels good,” he said. “My parents have been on me about making a decision. I’ve known for a while.” For the first time in his career, Bailey won’t have his father on the sideline. Damon Bailey served as an assistant coach with the Stars for the last four years. “I will definitely miss it,” Brayton said. “It will be weird not having him there. Although there were a couple of times at practice I wish he hadn’t been there, and I’m sure there were some practices he wishes he hadn’t been there. But I’m sure my family will be at games, right behind the bench.” Bailey scored a career-high 38 points against Milan and recorded a triple-double against New Palestine and Corydon. -

Also, kind of an interesting note. I think the walk on named Michael Shipp joined the team last year and played with Duncomb in high school. No clue if it helped with the recruitment but if so, good job by the coaching staff. Makes me wonder if the new walk on (whose dad is allegedly the PAC-12 commissioner?) could help improve our west coast ties? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Mohammed is 1aaa for me. He is the once every few years recruit with a solid core that can take a team to the next level. He is just dominant. He has an attitude I think would mesh with CAM. Wesley would be a fantastic add imo. Great four year get. No shame in that kid. I think he will win games. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Coronavirus and Its Impact

I hear ya. The more that are tested the more accurate a count of confirmed cases and a completely better handle of the entire situation at all levels in all directions. Hindsight will be 2020 when this is all done but one of the valuable lessons we are learning in real time is the importance of testing early and often. -

Via jeremy price: "My best sleuthing suggests Arizona’s Madison Conner, a 5-11 guard, is a top target, likely one of the in-home visits IU had out west before the season was canceled. Kiki Iriafen from California is top-10 national recruit IU has targeted, maybe another one of those West Coast visits, but that’s a guess. " 2 players iuwbb is really going after in 21 apparently -

That is a reasonable and mature response. Mine would be "Good, I'm glad you got screwed out of it! Sucks when someone not playing by the rules gets rewarded, huh?!?" Then I would probably devolve into vicious name calling that would end with me getting stabbed by the toothless, in-bred @#$%@ Kentuck. Man, I hate those vermin. -
