I chose those teams for dramatic effect...somewhat. However, Minnesota is 1-3 to start the year with losses to Oklahoma, Butler, and Utah. None ranked but all decent opposition. What good does that do for Minny right now? What if we were 1-3 and our young guys had no opportunity to settle into a groove? These are tune up games. I just want bodies for our guys to go against in November. Get 6 or 7 wins under your belt, learn each other’s tendencies, get some confidence and then bring it in December when the competition ramps up.

Hey ya'll! Ricky checkin' in. I figured I'd come on in and give my thoughts on the game comin' up on Wednesday.. Considering them boys over there at Princeton are smarter than a damn hobo with sheepskin pajamas, you've gotta' think that their hoops IQ is through the roof and then some. I've got us losing 96-14. I just don't see us finding a way to stop Joe Namath from deep.. I mean, that kid's an absolute marksman from 25-feet and out. Love ya'll! - Barrel Rick, 2019

I agree. Certainly, there was excitement early on last year as well, however I remember there being an uneasy feeling underneath, for me. Last years team turned it over way too much early on, missed free throws at a dangerous clip, Was comically bad in transition, and had just 1 true rotation that could score. I know that feeling was on this board. That uneasy feeling when the injuries began. We were a key injury away from complete disaster. This year does feel different, regardless of competition. I myself am struggling with how to explain why it feels different. There’s a different maturity I guess. Depth. I’m don’t find myself thinking “oh no, not this lineup again, or not these guys, why are they in the same lineup?” They are more confident? Seem better prepared? I don’t know. God knows what the final outcome will be. I truly believe though, whether the record turns out good or bad, that this team will be more fun to watch and less frustrating as a whole than in previous years. FWIW, the Duke 'insider' (Chad Lykins) who last week picked Garcia to Marquette was three of three on picks this past weekend....but how he was three of three tells the story. Chris Moore picked Auburn on Saturday afternoon....at 9:42 AM, Evan Daniels picked him to go to Auburn. Three others shortly followed suit and then Lykins picked Auburn. Same day, at Andrew Slater picked Isaiah Jackson to go to Kentucky (Slater runs Devil's Den and is Lykins employer) and a half hour later Lykins picked Kentucky for him. Jackson announced in the afternoon. Same thing happened with a kid going to Alabama, Lykins picked the kid going to Alabama on the day of his announcement after other more significant insiders picked him to do so that day. So I wouldn't call Lykins pick anything of any significance. If the significant insiders pick Garcia to Marquette the day of his announcement, Lykins will keep his prediction. If Garcia picks IU and insiders insiders pick Garcia to IU prior to the announcement, Lykins will switch.

Glad to have the double! I only saw the very end of OT and the PK's on my phone since I was busy. I don't want to be to negative but I have to point out that while winning in PK's awards you the double from a Big Ten perspective it doesn't help us as much as I'd like from an NCAA tourney seeding perspective. Whether we had won or lost in PK's match still goes down as a tie and makes no difference from a seeding perspective. That keeps our RPI at 11 while a win would have moved it up to 8. With that said I still think we get the 6-8 seed which gives us the two home games we want. Committee had us at a 10 with a 14 RPI during MSU game during their first reveal so I think an 11 RPI moves us to a 7 or 8. Would of been better though to win in regulation and have the top 8 RPI to be sure. With all that said so glad to be Big Ten Champions again and the turnaround to win in Pk's and OT last 4 years has been one of the main reasons we have gone from pretty good back to the elite soccer of the late 90's and early 2000's. Excited to see what team can do in NCAA Tournament and what seed and teams we get on the selection show at 1pm tomorrow (televised live for free on NCAA.com).

I strongly suspect we’re better. I am absolutely sure we’re deeper.

So essentially in the last 2 years we have played 22 big ten matches and have had a favorable result in 21 of them. That’s some straight up domination. Especially impressive since this was basically a new team. We reloaded versus rebuilt. What great coaches do.

    RIP Coach Knight

Give him a mic in Assembly Hall and let him talk about whatever he wants for as long as he wants to rid us of the curse! Actually, if he does speak in the Hall I hope parents have ear muffs for their kids. It’s be a pretty awesome moment though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

The No. 8 Indiana men's soccer team (14-2-4, 7-1-0 Big Ten) played to a 0-0 draw against the Michigan Wolverines (11-4-5, 4-1-3 Big Ten) in the championship tilt of the 2019 Big Ten Conference Tournament at Ludwig Field on Sunday afternoon. Indiana claimed the title by way of a 4-3 advantage in the penalty kick shootout. IUHOOSIERS.COM - The No. The tournament crown is the 14th in program history for Indiana. The Hoosiers also claimed the title in 2018, giving IU back-to-back conference tournament championships since the program won six-straight from 1994-99. Indiana pulled off the Big Ten regular season and tournament championship double for the 10th time in school history and for the second-straight season. The last time IU secured back-to-back doubles came in the 1998-99 seasons. KEY MOMENTS • Freshman Victor Bezerra launched a one-timer from 20-yards away that nearly snuck beyond the Michigan goalkeeper, but the shot was barely saved in the 14th minute of play. • Michigan narrowly missed out on the first tally of the contest after sophomore Derick Broche found himself open eight-yards in front of the net in the 53rd minute. Broche sailed the ball high of goal and came up empty on the shot attempt. • Freshman keeper Roman Celentano stood tall in middle stage of the second half as he recorded back-to-back saves on solid Michigan chances in the 66th and 67th minutes. • Indiana flirted with a Golden Goal as two Hoosiers, senior Simon Waever and Aidan Morris, attempted shots inside the 18-yard box in a scramble inside the final minute of the second overtime. • Celentano came up clutch in the PK shootout for the Hoosiers, The Naperville, Ill., native secured two saves in the five attempts from the Wolverines. Indiana received successful PK conversions from redshirt sophomore Joe Schmidt, redshirt junior A.J. Palazzolo, junior Thomas Warr, and the winner from freshman Joshua Penn. NOTABLES • Sophomore Jack Maher was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Tournament. Redshirt junior Spencer Glassand Morris joined Maher on the All-Big Ten Tournament Team. • Indiana will enter the NCAA tournament on a season-best seven-match unbeaten streak. The Hoosiers have outscored opponents 17-2 during the streak. • Indiana did not concede a tally throughout the entire Big Ten Tournament. In fact, the Hoosier defense has recorded four-straight clean sheets dating back to the final contest of the 2019 regular season. • The Hoosiers hold a Big Ten Tournament record of 39-10-10 all-time and are 22-3-3 overall against the Wolverines. HOOSIER POINTS Goals: None. Assists: None. UP NEXT The Hoosiers will await their fate as an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament. The 2019 championship field will consist of 24 automatic qualifiers and 24 at-large selections, which will be revealed on at 1 p.m. ET on Nov. 18 via NCAA.com. The top 16 teams will be seeded and receive first-round byes before hosting second-round games.

I pretty much see everyone acknowledging the lack of competition. The thing is though that there is something different about the chemistry and energy. That's just MO though I'm sure others will say the team is trash until they aren't. Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
