    IU Baseball Commits

[emoji599]Commitment [emoji599] The No. 6 overall player in the ‘22 class @MckayWhitaker1 has committed to @IndianaBase . Dynamic hit tool presently from the left side that projects for even more. Big time upside here. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

    #IUMS vs. Kentucky 7pm Wednesday

Was there but didn't have time to post. Totally fair result and very even match that could easily be played in the Elite 8 again. Sometimes you will see teams come into IU and get a fortunate win or tie but this was not that and while it would of sucked if Kentucky won they would of earned that as well. Overall a decent result for this young team and the best team we will play at home this year unless we host an Elite 8 team like UK at home. Only other team left on this schedule that as talented as Kentucky is at Maryland where I feeling our Big Ten streak comes to an end. Before the Terps though we have Michigan on Sunday who is good and will challenge us but we will be the better team and can hopefully pull that out. We have done really well against Michigan last few yrs since to their credit they play us all out and don't park the bus like many teams usually do so our talent oftentimes wins out in the end. I'll preview that more later on though.

Understood, I was addressing your "if not Diara we might not get a PG for '20" thought. I'd love both but I do think finding a solid back-up PG via grad transfer is a realistic option. Seriously doubt IU could find another big man anywhere near the level of Garcia.

I'd be fine with a Grad transfer PG too. I like Diara, from what I've seen, but would choose Garcia between the two.

    (2020) PF/C - Dawson Garcia to Minnesota

That’s probably right considering he visited Georgia, IU, and A&M. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Some guys over at ITH forum believe it's a two horse race between A&M and IU.

Garcia and Diarra, along with the other 3 commits, would be a great class

“16. INDIANA: MICHAEL PENIX JR. The Hoosiers are a different team with Penix in the lineup. He’s currently one of 16 quarterbacks with elite grades for the season albeit we’ve seen him in just three games this year. However, in those three games, he hasn’t graded below 74.5 and has the country’s fourth-highest adjusted completion percentage at 84.5%. He’s an accurate thrower with a very strong arm and a strong feel in the pocket for his age. He’s also fared very well when pressured, something he’ll certainly see more of through Big Ten play, as he’s completed 12-of-24 passes for 240 yards and hasn’t thrown an interception. He can lean on his strong play from a clean pocket but if the play breaks down, he’s shown he can escape and make plays with his arm on the move just as easy.” WOW. Brass Cannon - your thoughts? Corey Evans Comments - Indiana is a serious suitor for Dawson Garcia . The recent information I have is that Marquette and the Hoosiers are the two programs that might be slightly ahead. Garcia also made for a surprise decision that he will commit and sign this fall, rather than waiting things out until the spring. Memphis has picked up some traction with him, Minnesota is doing its all to keep him home, Arizona just enrolled his former travel teammate and one should never count out Kansas or UNC. However, Indiana is in a good spot and securing the talented forward’s commitment is within the Hoosiers' grasp.

I guess Evans thinks we have a real chance and says that Garcia is going to sign in the fall. If this happens just add a grad transfer point and we will be in really good shape
