Dakich is irrelevant when it comes to IU hoops. He trashes Archie and the program every chance he gets. Meanwhile Archie is recruiting the state better than anyone in the last 25yrs., bringing back and getting support from past players, and getting the administration to spend money on renovations. I will trust our sources on BTB over anything he says(regarding IU). DD is the president of his own fan club. Hell, even Benson has said good things about Archie

    Prediction League RESULTS Thread

Week 1 Results Everyone who picked got one right with IU winning. @IUsafety @JHoosier914 @LamarCheeks and @The Ola Depot correctly picked IU to score 34 while @Brass Cannon and @IUc2016 both predicted Ball St to score 24. The aforementioned IUsafety and LamarCheeks tied for the Week 1 win with 132 pts. Look I am not saying IU was great today or anything, but did anybody watch other big ten games? Nebraska struggled at home against south Alabama. 35-21 Purdue lost at Nevada. 34-21 Minnesota barely beat FCS South Dakota State at home. 28-21. Iowa is only up 24-14 in the fourth as I type this against another MAC school, Miami (oh). No IU wasn’t great. But they were were far from terrible. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

People are just ready to get pissed again. This was the most electric offense we’ve seen since Sudfeld/Coleman, and it’s not even close. There was so much wrong with our play today, specifically on defense. A lot also changed this off-season in terms of coaches. We also didn’t see what we know Scott can do, nor did we truly see Sampson James. Overall, lots to improve upon in order to make and win a bowl, but I’m excited by this offense. DeBoer made some great play calls, and thank god we have an excellent kicker. Go Hoosiers. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Basically, I see nothing that can't be fixed. Sky's not falling yet.

You do realize Penix led one of those TD drives last year against Ball State and another TD was an 86 yard punt return for a TD by J-Shun Harris....and that was IU’s 3rd game last year with Ramsey at QB and he put up 24 points and threw for 173 yards sooooo that argument is moot. The D not being to get off the field on 3rd downs was the only thing keeping us from hanging 50+ on them. I don’t know how anybody could want Ramsey in over Penix at this point. We’ve seen what Ramsey can do and what we know is, we can’t win the big games with him, he’s had his chance, time to move on. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

If Archie is successful like we all hope Dan will become irrelevant very fast. Archie doesn’t strike me as somebody to cry about being attacked. But can’t imagine Dan will have the needed access if Archie has success if we are winning titles and he can’t get anybody from the team on his show what good will he be

possibly: perhaps, maybe, conceivable something: a thing that is unknown or unspecified interesting: absorbing, engrossing, fascinating, riveting, gripping, compelling, compulsive, spellbinding, captivating, engaging, enthralling, entrancing, beguiling happening: occurrence, event, incident, scene, affair, circumstance, phenomenon, episode, adventure, experience, occasion, action, activity, development, eventuality, accident, case, business, thing Yes indeedy, the man is really going out on a limb with this one. Probably nothing more than he's planning to sign the new Alumni Basketball Wall.

Yeah I'm not seeing it either. Our starting running back carried the ball 19 times, averaged 2.5 ypa, and had a long of 7. Against a MAC time. We had 457 yards against Ball State last year, only 17 fewer than this year. One more first down than this year. If anything this shows that the offense putting up good numbers against ball state doesn't mean much.

I saw Purdue was up by two touchdowns with about 10 minutes left and thought nothing of it after that. I had no idea they lost until yesterday evening when I read this thread. Rough week for Gregg Doyel. First Luck, and now this.

Dynamic a better word? The Ramsey/DeBord offense was so limited. This offense is well rounded, and I’m hoping they tighten things up as the season progresses. New QB and new OC - I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that they will improve. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

#22 = Dean Garrett; Damon Bailey; Jimmy Rayl; Archie Dees. I could live with that.

So because Penix beat a Ball State team that won 4 games last year by a whopping 10 points he's suddenly the savior that can win the big games for us? I don't know which game you were watching, but we were nowhere near hanging 50+ points on them. It was not the defense's fault that we didn't do that. People are really trying hard to convince themselves that this year is going to be different.

A win is a win. First game of the season. Rust, jitters, etc. Definitely underwhelmed but I finally have confidence in the coordinators we have on staff to make sure miscues are corrected. Impressed with Penix poise. Disappointed with Marcelino's lack of focus. Looking forward to next week!!!!

We must be watching different games. Not taking that sack at the end of the half, that bomb, scramble capability. I'm not handing him the Heisman, but far from disappointing.

Ok, this just happened. My wife comes down the stairs and tells me she wants to go out for brunch. NOW! I remind her that the Hoosiers kick off in a few minutes. Her response? “Honey, it’s IU football. It’s just going to piss you off.” So it’s off to brunch I go. The things I do for love.

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves

Love seeing Jager on the staff now. Obviously we don't know what the future holds with wins/losses and the longterm success that will/won't come, can we at least agree that Archie gets Indiana and how to build a program? He kept Elston on staff, every recruit he's brought in but one (Forrester) has been from Indiana or at least the greater Midwest area (Hunter/Ohio, Thompson/Minnesota), he added a former player in Mike Roberts to his staff, and now he's added a former player of his to the graduate manager spot where I assume he'll be groomed to one day be a coach. That's how you not only build a program but you build a culture.
