People on both sides have been offended. I’ve seen people attack a negative poster for just being negatives d having a different outlook just as I’ve seen some negative posters getting annoyed with people posting positive outlooks. Been on here long enough to recognize when posters are frustrated with how a thread is going or about to go. A personal example would be when I’m posting recruiting updates on a recruit about IU being interested and the first post from someone after is a smart a$$ reply saying don’t know why IU is involved they are wasting their time and have 0 chance and how big a failure the program is. Those posters seemed annoyed at that thought of me trying to bring any positive info about the program that comes up. It’s like I shot their dog and ruined their day for even trying to look at things from a positive standpoint. Like you said we are saying the same thing I think the only difference is i see it happening on both sides of the argument. Middle ground between the 2 sides would be a place to start but that’s just not going happen on a message board especially with as passionate fan base as IU basketball brings. I’m sure you get annoyed of being called a negative poster for you frustrations of where your expectations for the program is just as I’m annoyed of being labeled a pumper of sunshine because of my views. Both can agree winning will bring the 2 sides closer to the middle Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

IndianaHQ - Top 45 player, DJ Steward (Whitney Young) plans to take a visit to Indiana, Louisville, and Illinois in June. He recently just finished an official visit to Texas.

Me too brother. Great post. Go Hoosiers.

I would find it weirder if a person was overwhelmingly negative all the time on a free IU fan site and got mad and was offended when others were overwhelmingly positive. It seems weird to me when negative posters would expect it not to be positive on this site. Just my opinion Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2022) PF Jalen Washington to UNC

Washington missed most of the season with West Side with a shoulder injury during his freshman year. He didn't play until February and averaged 12 points and 8 rebounds. Ranked as the #1 player in the state for 2022 and #14 nationally by ESPN.

Holy crap ... DeRon Davis has most definitely lost some lbs. An in-shape DeRon combined with his late-season attitude toward leadership and accountability would be a helluva player for IU this coming season.

    2020 General Recruiting Thread

Yeah we were expecting 2 second year top 35 ish talents and were trying to load up on role players due to our heavy presence of upper class men contributors. For me, that’s why I am not a fan of putting all of my eggs in one basket. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Just because someone that is more positive than you doesn’t make them a sunshine pumper either. For someone that doesn’t like being classified that way due to being more negative than others I would think you would understand that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I never said that you said that. I'm just saying that this board is overwhelmingly sunshine pumpers which makes it weird when they complain about the minority of posts. That's all.
  13. 1 point
I never stated that the majority of posters or posts were negative. A collective is not the majority of posters. It is a percentage whether large or small. If you read the post that I was referring to, you will see that a recruit decided to attend somewhere else rather than IU. Because that recruit did not choose us, it was inferred that our program was "low". This negative opinion was completely unfounded based on the fact that he was never even seriously recruited. I don't have a problem with the negative opinions if there is foundation for it.

As a collective, this board is overwhelmingly optimistic. Disagreeing with that is untrue. If the minority of posts disagree with your opinion and you label them as negative, then the problem might lie within you. Just my 2 cents. I hate it when the majority opinion complains about having to hear the minority opinion.

Agreed. The lack of a 2020 commit yet is not a big deal, but it makes a few posters impatient, and a bit cranky.

While I agree with the conclusion that this is not a loss or a problem in any way, Bowhunter's comment is the one negative comment out of a host of "no big deal" comments. In other words, his negative post is apropos of nothing IMO.

I find myself personally in the middle of the optimists and pessimists.....but mostly from the viewpoint that my position doesn't make a difference in reality. If I only looked for the good, as an IU football fan I'd have ulcers by now. What I have found frustrating personally is that it's hard to bring up an optimistic statement on this board without being attacked (and this is 100% not directed on any one individual). I certainly hear the same pessimistic statement/developments as others but those already get covered/stated. Not bringing them up doesn't mean someone hasn't heard them, it just means that I don't have anything more to add to the conversation if it has been discussed fully. Let me bring up a couple of players just for context: DeVonte Green and Justin Smith. I have probably as high of an opinion of Green's game as anybody on here. Conversely, I am a Justin Smith naysayer. But I tend not to add much to the Justin Smith conversations because what I have to say has already been said. I don't talk much about Smith because what I am going to bring up isn't going to add to the conversation....I mean I could say the exact same thing as other people are saying, but it really wouldn't add anything. I'll just like their post and move on. With Green on the other hand, I feel what I put may add to the conversation because it offers an alternate view. I think too often people are getting labeled as optimists or pessimists based on singular statements and people get taken to task when they provide a unique view. I know I've been guilty of that.

(2020) PF Matt Cross to Miami

Might not be as bad as some think. Development of chemistry with Terrence Clarke might just benefit us. Clarke has made several visits to Bloomington on his own dime. I believe that there is positive interest there.

Nice background article on Luke Goode - yes, I know it's from the Laffyette newspaper but despite that, it's still a good read. Interesting to learn that as it now stands PUke will only have 2 scholarships available for the loaded '21 Indiana class. Also interesting to learn that Goode's father played football for IU as a defensive back and wide receiver. https://www.jconline.com/story/sports/college/purdue/basketball/2019/06/07/homesteads-luke-goode-touch-purdue-recruiting-picks-up/1384272001/

The blood clots of deep vein thrombosis can be caused by anything that prevents your blood from circulating or clotting normally, such as injury to a vein, surgery, certain medications and limited movement. i can't get the font change and I'm just exhausted at fighting this website so I'm leaving it. That's from mayo. If he had surgery for CS any one of those could be the culprit.
