I would have to think that he does (or should). I'm in sales, and have about 200 customers. Some of them call me, some of them text, some of them email me. I adjust my communications to meet their preferences. If one of them wanted to face time their orders, you'd better believe I'd do it. I hope Archie does too.

(2019) SG Lester Quinones to Memphis

I'm not really holding out hope here. But for guys like Old Friend and others that want to vilify kids, this at least shows that they're wanting to win at IU at the same time they're working towards individual goals. Article from Memphis newspaper: Indiana made a big impression when Quinones and his family traveled to Bloomington for his official visit. He called it his favorite visit of the ones he’s taken with his family during the process. Relationships with coach Archie Miller and strength coach Clif Marshall were enhanced on the official visit. They emphasized family and bringing a championship back to Indiana. “It was different," Quinones said of the time in Bloomington. “At that visit I feel like I bonded with the returning players better than at any of the other visits. Jerome Hunter, De’Ron Davis and Devonte Green and all those guys just want to bring Indiana back to where it used to be. Hanging banners and stuff like that.” https://dailymemphian.com/section/sports/article/4907/Quinones-decision-could-impact-the-rest-of-Penny-Hardaways-recruiting

Not Facebook, FaceTime; not a social media thang. A way of speaking with a recruit, especially an out of state recruit, on a video conference call.

(2019) SG Lester Quinones to Memphis

Quinones just stated he has FaceTimed the coach of the school he’ll be attending and informed him that he’ll be going to that school earlier today. I can say with almost certainty he’s going to Memphis.

I was only joking. I will facetime Lester and get the real reason. Anyone have his number?

Grizzlies will hold closed NBA draft workouts today and tomorrow. Today’s participants are: Marlon Hunter Jr. (Jacksonville State) Anthony Lawrence (Miami (FL)) Skylar Mays (LSU) Matt McQuaid (Michigan State) Juwan Morgan (Indiana) Josh Reaves (Penn State)

(2020) PG Ethan Morton to Purdue

Just the nature of message boards anymore. The social media age has produced instant gratification. When it isn’t met, people riot. I don’t see it getting any better.

I think it's easy to get caught up in the trap that the first offers extended are automatically to our priority targets. And maybe they were our priority at the time the offer was extended, i.e., Morton April '18 , but recruiting is very fluid. Some kids simply don't/won't progress while others will simply skyrocket. Maybe Archie's cooled on the need for a '20 PG and going all in for Lander '21. I have zero inside info but I'm not at all concerned with where Morton ends up playing his college bball. Purely for spite, I don't want it to be PUke, but if it is, so be it.

Because Lester was quoted as saying Penny FaceTimed him at least once a day and sometimes twice a day in a article on the Memphis board. Just would make sense if he has a relationship with a coach where they FaceTime then he would communicate with that coach through FaceTime. I also don’t see Archie has someone who communicates through FaceTime Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Lost a recruit due to Archie not using FaceTime...come on Archie, set up your facetime.

He had said previously that he and penny face time every day. Now he announced that he told the winning coach over face time.... seems pretty obvious Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Honestly, If Purdue gets this kid, big time kudos. I don’t know who is better between him, Leal, and Galloway. I would have liked Indiana getting Morton though. I’ve been cool on Galloway and Leal, not super impressed. Both seem to bring some basketball know-how but lack in the measurables. Archie gonna have to prove a lot to me, because at this point to me, he’s grasping to figure out his own identity. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I know. It's still in that genre to me. All of my kids use it. I'm not THAT old.

(2020) PG Ethan Morton to Purdue

Guys, Archie went to watch this kid play last week with NY Ren. Morton was supposed to be the star 6'6" PG that would blossom in AAU this year after having an underwhelming year playing up last year. Instead Archie capped the weekend by offering his teammate; a better PG. Purdue didn't jump in with their fresh Sweet 16 banner and steal a kid on the rise. We won't know how the Leal/Galloway offers play in here. Did Archie get wind Morton wasn't interested, or did Morton get wind that Archie was moving in another direction? We do know that Archie offered Leal AND Galloway AND Davis before any notion Morton was announcing soon. Before I'm called a hypocrite/sour grapes whatever. December 6, 2018, I posted in this thread: I really haven't understood the hype. How many of you lamenting another Archie recruiting failure have actually watched the kid and determined that he's a difference maker? Well put. And I don't want to hate on Morton too much. D1 coaches think he's D1 capable. And the only bad thing about choosing Purdue is that you have to be a Boilermaker, otherwise I can't hate on their program either. I don't think this one would sting as much if we weren't in the midst of a slew of rejections.

That top 5 pick that you speak of...well, I seriously beg to differ! He had plenty of opportunity to show that, and WE (unless your glasses differ than ours) just didn't see it. He can not live in the NBA going to the rack. Those are men! Horrid shooter and has no killer instint. He is young and maybe will develop, but just another average NBA player. I was high on him since 8th grade, but after watching this past season, I sure cooled my jets. I don't care what kind of offense CAM could have ran for him. If you can't hit wide open looks...smh!

(2020) SG Anthony Leal to IU

If this was last year before he built a relationship with other coaches guessing he would be a quick trigger. With no offer last year that allowed coaches from other schools to jump in and give him something to think about. He built a relationship enough with Stanford to take an official and do home visits with other schools. IU is still the leader in my opinion and he will decide by the school year but the quick trigger went out the door last year when IU didn’t pull the trigger in my opinion Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
