What do those coaches have in common? They were given time to build a winning culture and program. They busted their butts and recruited players that fit their system and the rest is history. When Izzo lost to Santa Clara, Detroit Mercy, Central Michigan, Fresno St in his first year and Marathon(exhibition game), Detroit again and finishing 9-9 in the B1G both years hopefully some of their fans saw the bigger picture When Beilein lost to western Kentucky, Harvard, central Michigan going 10-22(5-13) in the first year, going 21-14 9-9 (7th place) in the B1G in the second year (made the tourney and won a game), 15-17(7-11 8th) hopefully some of their fans saw the bigger picture. Definitely agree it is fun to watch the B1G when most teams are good. As a B1G fan watching only 4 teams make the tourney was a downer Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I’m even for criticizing a player for making bad plays and/or bad games. However, I believe there’s a way to do it constructively. I might not agree with everything Old Friend says but enjoy reading some of his criticisms of players. When I rewatch games I pickup what he was getting at with bad shots, positioning, awareness, etc. that I might have missed watching it live. We love to tout how knowledgeable of a fan base we are but many of “those” posters just like to stir the pot without adding any insight. Constructive criticism with solutions increase the knowledge of the site.... Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app

Gotta get that hot take in first so if it turns out to be right they can hit you with the “I told you so” if Archie turns out to be the class of the Big Ten and consistently competing they can always come back with the “I’m happy he improved.” Despite losing at Michigan and at Maryland (in a very winnable game), I like a lot of what we did in those games and like the direction the program is headed. Conversation about how the team plays is fine. Debates over offensive and defensive styles, no problem. But calling out specific players crosses the line for me. They all signed up to play for the team I support and I'm sure they are trying their best to contribute. Nobody likes to lose, but the player specific criticism is, for me, discouraging.

Hunter was in the running for Ohio Mr. Basketball, that is saying something about his game. I was actually more exited about his commitment than Romeo's. I thought Hunter was going to be a 2-3 yr. stud for us ,and still could be. If he is able to ball anytime this season, I would like to see him on the floor. I honestly believe he is the missing piece on this team this year! If he isn't able, medical redshirt and get ready for next year.

That is because they do read it. The kids parents read us. The athletic department read us. All have contacted us in the past. That’s part of why a long time ago people went so over the top we would try and reign them in. But people act like you are just trying to censor them. Assessing the game was always ok. Hot takes, bullying, and just making things personal never has been and there was a reason for it. There is just a newer louder vocal minority that can’t see in front of their nose to realize their words actually do touch those people they talk about and do have negative impacts. Yeah man. We get Brooks there is a lot to like of the direction. Are there concerns? Sure. Nobody is perfect. We have to keep improving. From last year to this we are improving. We really need to get in that 4-6 seed area. That’s the type of team we have and what most expected. From there anything can happen in the tournament. Go into next year needing to improve on this season. Losing Romeo and Juwan obviously won’t be easy, but getting that year growth for everyone else and bringing in what we expect. That’s all I am hoping for. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I go back and forth on wanting him back this year. On one hand, we're almost halfway done with the year, so it might be better not to burn a year of eligibility. On the other hand, if he comes in and does what many think he's capable of doing he's probably not a four year player anyway, so the extra year of eligibility wouldn't matter.

Devote Green had 15 points against Maryland. He led the way in the 1st half when Indiana jumped out to a lead. Overall, he was 2 for 3 from 3-point range and 5 for 5 from the line, most fouls occurring when he drove to the basket. Yes, he took a couple of bad shots, but generally he played a good game. The plus/minus on him was plus 3. It's hardly accurate to pin the loss on his shooting.

I had to leave just as Wisky cut the lead to start the 2nd half; plenty worried they were going to totally collapse after an outstanding 1st half. Relieved we held on and thankful Wisky left 11 points on the FT stripe with misses. Gulbe fouls out in just 8 minutes of action; Yeaney a no-show; good thing Royster showed up today.

As I said early on, rumor on the streets was that he was waiting for your comment. Thanks for making it 100 pages. We're ready for your final answer now, Keion.

I'm not saying that there isn't a way to constructively discuss individual player performance. But some of the comments after the past two games have been brutal and without any constructive criticism. I would prefer that some of what goes on in the game threads about specific players didn't happen. And I know that if I don't like it, I am free to not participate. At the end of the day, we all want the same thing or else we wouldn't be here.
