He comes out of hibernation from his cave in the dark, cold wilderness but once a year to lay down pure fire on unsuspecting city guts primed to bust upon hearing his latest quip. That’ll do, Alaska. That’ll do. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Yes, I'm quoting myself because I have some additional info on this game. Leal was 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and 7-of-10 from the field. He was also a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. Archie was watching as was an assistant from Xavier. An asst. coach from Stanford will be in tomorrow night for his home game against Southport.

They better not have drop ceilings. That'll kill recruiting.

Im young and didn’t come from a family of Hoosier fans. Didn’t even know about the Hoosiers till high school. I don’t think changes to our jersey will do jack, our brand IS tradition and doing things the “right way”, and I’m confident IU is headed in the right direction with Archie because he fits that brand and is a great coach. Down for a script alternate jersey, but really don’t think it matters for even second when discussing Indiana’s shortcomings nor our path back to success. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I drove up to Happy Valley for the game on Tuesday and took off Wednesday. $30 for a seat at mid-court about 8 rows from the floor. Couldn't have asked for a better view. Great road trip. Turned out to be a little closer of a game than I hoped, but overall, a pretty sweet expericene. All that said, maybe I missed it.. But Clifton Moore was the guy who really stood out to me. Like might-be-able-to-contribute-solid-minutes, stood out. I know it was a very short sample size, but he came in, actually looked somewhat poised with the ball in his hands (minus the almost-turnover after the inbound play), scored some points, played defense, and got a few rebounds. I'm not cashing in my hand on Moore, but I think he can be a warm body down low, who doesn't do stupid stuff with the ball (see Justin Smith highlights for more details) to give guys like Fitzner, Morgan, and Davis a rest.

I was lucky enough to have Todd’s wife as my clinical advisor while getting my Masters and she was getting her PhD. He may have had stone hands but he must’ve had some moves off at he court. I never missed supervision that semester Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

    #IUMS - 2018 College Cup

I mentioned how last year teams had elite no.'s. compared to this year. Here is the numbers from last year: UNC was 2nd in offense and 26th in Defense. Akron was 5th in defense and 6th in offense. Stanford was 2nd in defense and 9th in offense and IU was 1st in defense and 12th in offense. This year we are a similar 2nd in defense and 14th in offense. However, the teams in it with us do not have the gaudy numbers. Akron's offense is fairly gaudy at 15th but their D leaks badly and is just 72nd. Maryland on the other hand has a really strong D at Maryland 17th but their offense is anemic at 116th. MSU is more balanced but not great at anything with 20th ranked D and 50th ranked O. In other words soccer is a crap shoot and anything can happen but we certainly have a huge advantage numbers wise we did not last year.

We are rebuilding give it time i have been watching iu for long enough to tell that this coach is different and will get on the right track and is looking to pull in the talent to do special things but it takes time. This is not a davis crean type coach. I left sampson out cause I think he could have won here Sent from my SM-G920V using BtownBanners mobile app

We don't need new jerseys to be a top program. We've always been able to get talented players to come here. Even Crean did. What we need is a talented coach who can win consistently. Have that and players would come to IU even if they had to play in their pajamas. With that said, I'm not against some new jerseys. A couple alt uniforms could be cool, if done right. I just see it low on the list for things the program needs to be successful.

    (2019) QB Jaden Johnson

I know I have dogged on Wilson and his recruiting......it’s not to say he wasn’t good at identifying talent or getting a QB interested.......he had several talented QBs on campus during his day, now most HCs aren’t the head or main recruiters when it’s said and done.....but for in home visits and officials let’s just say once the parents and players met the guy.....he wasn’t very personable and a lot of parents were turned off by him. As well as some talented QBs

    So some concerns I’m having...

We are 7-2 and a tip in away from 8-1? We got blown out by Duke but so did Kentucky. We have held every team we have played to under 1 point per possession, aside from Duke who we held to the second lowest PPP they have had all season. We held Stevens from PSU, who averages more than 20 ppg, to 12 freaking points. Marquette's only other loss this year is to Kansas and we blew them out of the water. We have had some struggles, but we have also been hurt. We have things to work on, but this team has a chance to fight for the top of the B1G. We finally have a hard nosed coach and not a car salesman. When he talks in the huddle, he gets mad and actually coaches and doesn't just clap and say, "we are still in it guys." I have no doubt in my mind that some of the sloppy play will be ironed out in the next few weeks. We look to be getting back to back Indiana Mr. Basketballs (and probably a third in Leal but that remains to be seen.) We are getting players that we actually want and beating out other blue bloods to get them. The role player guys we have in the incoming classes are quality 4* kids and not Tim Priller. I don't think we are world beaters just yet and I have some concerns about this team, but the season isn't even a month old yet. Let it play out and look forward to Saturday and the future of the program.
