IF IU was at home and IF they were completely healthy and IF they hadn't showed so poorly recently, I would feel pretty good about this game. As it is, I agree with the consensus: Coach K will order up 13-14 1st half fouls to avoid any semblance of a threat. Duke is more talented, but IU is deeper (again, when healthy) and actually more experienced......sounds like a conspiracy but there is NO way "they" let Dook lose 2 in row, especially at home on ESPN. 0% chance of that, even if IU was up to it. Call me less than optimistic. -

In OT, the Rockets were beaten by the Wizards 135-131. EG with a great shooting night scoring 36, which in most games would make him his team's leading scorer. BUT, James Harden pumped in 56. They were a combined 29-55 FG's and 15-31 on 3's. The rest of the team was only 17-42 FG's and 3-17 on 3's. -

I agree but the “don’t panic” crowd never panics. And then we miss the NCAAs, still no panic. That’s been the refrain. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I’d say justifiably. For the record I’m not in panic mode this season and the loss tomorrow won’t put me there either. We aren’t playing well yet. Expecting to see us better soon. The Louisville/Butler games are big. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I remembered that year well. Was hanging Christmas lights on a cold Sunday afternoon when we beat them. I think I found the game on a radio broadcast then and followed. A week or so later while driving through the WV mountains we were following the championship game as best we could. Terrible cell and radio reception but we kept refreshing phones for updates as we drove. We were headed to VA for a stressful surgery for my son and following those games helped distract from stress. Keion truly intrigues me. I am not nearly the guru like some of the ones I rely on for information (thanks to you all!) in terms of having seen them play, or knowing their style of play, etc. But, I do follow our targets pretty closely. If you would have told me last year that we would be leading in this recruitment, I would have laughed. I love that CAM can attract such a diverse group/style of recruits. -

I posted this in a different thread but I’ll repeat here. This could mean absolutely nothing a day in advance but, I was on Oddshark again today, looking for point spread info. Oddshark is a betting website which, in addition to statistical info, also lists injured players for each team in the matchup. Curiously the list does not include Devonte or Mcbob. Thompson is questionable and Hunter is still down as indefinite. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

ALLEN thinking of turning over defensive coordinator duties to someone else.
thebigweave and 2 others reacted to Magnanimous for a post in a topic
The reason I remain (partially) optimistic on Allen is that if he finds a degree of success he will stay. This program needs someone a la Bill Snyder to stick around for a while to develop a foundation, and it is either going to be a "good enough" guy like Allen who will likely never be great but has the potential to turn us into a perennial 8 win team that occasionally wins 9-10 or we need to get a formally successful P5 coach whose time is up at the big boy level. Wash St. got it with Leach and Cincy did it with Tuberville. A young up and comer will leave here the first chance he gets. It goes back to that Moneyball quote about knowing your place. "If we try to be the Yankees in here we will lose to Yankees out there." Well if we try to build a program like Michigan or Penn State does, we will will lose to them. We don't need a gimmick per say, but we do need an idenity for how we do things given our resources. It's how the West Virginias and TCUs of the world can compete with the likes of Oklahoma and Ohio State. Debord is over the hill and we need a young mind who can be innovative in today's game to be running the offense. Allen is at least bringing southern speed to the defensive side of the ball, which is allowing us to overcome our size deficiency. I think the recruits we are bringing in are talented and need some time to develop before we wipe the slate clean again, but until IUFB decides what it wants it's brand of football to be we will never go above a marginal bowl team. -

Memphis signee DJ Jeffries received a lot of backlash from Kentucky fans after his decommitment, but he only has one short message for them. “Just know if we ever play them it’s going to be the same result as Duke,” Jeffries said.
