Definitely an exciting time at the USPS household. Mrs USPS was excited helping me carry one of the TVs downstairs for the setup. Lol. Seriously though I’m fortunate enough and thankful to have a wife that enables and accepts my college basketball obsession. I will post some pictures tomorrow. A couple more games to watch tomorrow. Florida/Florida St Western Kentucky/Washington BYU/Nevada UMBC/Marquette. I just want to see how UMBC handles being in spotlight now instead of people just saying what is UMBC Indiana St/Ball St. Go trees Work won’t get over fast enough tomorrow. Stuhoo can u do me a favor and post that Gif of the LLV(Postal truck) doing a doughnut and burnout. Last year when you posted that I couldn’t stop laughing Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Happy Birthday Big Fella! I miss our MSB thread. One more for good time's sake: When MSB left to go to college at IU, he turned to his father and said, "you are the man of the house now".

I’ll watch the Hoosiers, but only so I can hopefully catch a few indiana senate candidate commercials at the breaks. Can’t get enough of those! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

From Archie's radio show this evening - Miller mentions playing "nine, ten, eleven" guys this season. He also said Indiana wants to play up tempo. Miller says De'Ron Davis was "probably the best he's been" today in practice. Expects him to play on Tuesday. Miller said Montana State's philosophy is "very similar to Oregon." Mentions the Bobcats play a lot of matchup zone. Based on injury situation, Miller said it would tough to redshirt someone this year. Miller says Justin Smith is in "a lot better physical condition" than he was last season as a freshman. Miller says that Rob Phinisee and Devonte Green will play together this season. Archie Miller says Evan Fitzner might be Indiana's best free throw shooter based on percentages in practice.

Let the games begin. Televised on the basic BTN channel. Interesting sidelight to the game -- Chicago State fired its previous coach last spring and didn't hire Lance Irvin until August 7, so he hasn't had a lot of time on the job. From Archie's presser today: Miller says it's not easy to game plan for Chicago State because they have lost so many players and have a new staff. "We're going to have to be good at what we do." Archie Miller says he doesn't think Al Durham or Race Thompson will be available for games this week due to lingering injuries. Race Thompson, Al Durham unlikely to play vs. Chicago State with injuries. Might miss Montana State too. Others are game-time decisions. Miller calls health issues "a little speed bump" for IU. Says everyone else — which would presumably include Jerome Hunter, Devonte Green and DeRon Davis —will be game time decisions. Devonte Green is "back into full go." Cleared to practice today, and "knock on wood, he'll be available for the game." Miller said "Damezi (Anderson) is a guy who has to step in and be ready." Said more will be asked of him with Jerome Hunter working his way through injury. Archie: "We’re a hodge podge when things break down. We’ve got to get organized. Once we get organized, I think we have a chance to take the next step offensively."

Believe it or not, I think we see a little bit more of Clifton Moore than most would expect tonight.

And that takes time. Also iu has big games coming up out od conference anyhow just not opening night. Another factor is the season is long and you have to manage fatigue and injury throughout the season and cant play great teams every night. All teams have cup cakes and iu schedule is plenty tough imo Sent from my SM-G920V using BtownBanners mobile app

I don’t think it’s a bad thing to want IU to schedule good teams, frankly most have been in agreement for years iu needed to improve the out of conference schedule. I think this years is an improvement but still has a ways to go. It is hard to watch some of these big early season matchups and not get a little jealous IU isn’t in these marquees. IU needs to bump MSU out of that top spot in the big ten and be the class of the league again Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Duke plays Hartford and Stetson. North Carolina plays Wofford, Elon and St Francis (Pa). Kentucky plays VMI and SIU Villanova plays Morgan State and Quinnipiac. MSU plays Northern Illinois, Oakland and Louisiana Monroe Michigan plays Binghamton and Norfolk State. Their ADs and Presidents must want to destroy their top tier programs. IU doesnt play near the bottom feeders they used. IMO, this pre conference schedule is good. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Another sign of Fred Glass and McRobbie trying to destroy any chance of us becoming a top tier athletic program. Shame.

Completely agree. I don’t know if it’s difficult to schedule only teams in the top 175 RPI or so but a 15-25 point win over the 164th team in the RPI pays so much more dividends in March than a 40 point win against a Chicago St.

At least it's a team that's nearby. Crean would pay teams like this to come from 2,000 miles away.
