(2019) RB Sampson James to Indiana

Well here’s something interesting: Apparently Sampson James was in Columbus as a Buckeye commit yesterday for the game! Seems to me he was impressed with how IU played, and no doubt he found himself rooting for the overachieving Hoosiers. Still worried this commitment will hold? I’m not.

This is absolutely huge for the program. Sends a message to guys like David Bell that Indiana has something special going on. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

James' flip to IU is really ironic because yesterday Punt John Punt tweeted: That's the recruiting advantage that OSU has. Not a single current IU player had an OSU offer. Takes care of that if we can hold on to him!

Lose to Ohio State one day, steal their recruit the next. Interesting strategy there.

Sampson would be Indiana's second highest ranked commit ever since 247Sports began doing Player Rankings in 2000.

    #IUMS @ Michigan - 3 pm/BTN

Traveling again but hotel has BTN so was able to watch whole match. I couldn't post updates throughout because my computer was in a very inconvenient place. With that said we rebounded better than I could of imagined and looked like last years defense again turning away pretty much every dangerous opportunity before it became a problem. Michigan, like U-Conn is a solid tourney team and good at everything but not great at anything. We got them as we have so many times with speed with Dorsey speeding through defenders who were paying to much attention to him and found a wide open Buckmaster on right side who tucked it home as he was running up to box unmarked. D then closed it out and never allowed anything to dangerous. I had us tying today but a win is even better and far more important than the UK loss. We are now very much in the drivers seat for Big Ten title and can still win outright with a tie or share the title with a loss. Last years tie against Michigan at home cost us the Big Ten title and Michigan as the 5th best team sneaked out with the title. Today we avenged that. We can wrap up the title beating Maryland and then going on the road and beating awful OSU and Rutgers before even having to face MSU. For next game Maryland is basically IU of 14, 15 and 16 with a really good D but a completely anemic offense and a lot of talent. If we can get out with 1-0 win again (and even a tie not end of world) we almost assure ourselves the title baring an awful loss. Baring bad weather I’ll be there Friday and hopefully another big crowd shows.

I would be shocked because I think we land Jackson-Davis and Brooks. We will also have Davis, Moore, Thompson, Forrester, and then Jackson-Davis and Brooks on the roster. Hurt would start and get plenty of time but I just don't see him playing a year in Btown. I would love to have him and for him to perform well here but I'm just not feeling it.

I think they averaged a little over 8,000 people per game last year. Pauley Pavilion holds around 14,000. They year they had Ball brought their highest attendance total in 19 years and that was around 10,000 people. Last year Wilkes got to play on the big stage in a gym that was only 60% full all year. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I think if he offers top Tier Hoosiers, then it makes them seem like an attractive option for mid-tier hoosiers, like Nunge, and the 10th best Hoosier is better than the 5th best Iowan, usually.
