Nice!! I was playing baseball in an allstar tourney in bloomington when I was 12. I hit a dinger when Randle El was umping and he signed the ball. It's a great memory.

    2019 General Recruiting Thread

Eric Bossi had an in-depth piece on IU's potential class on Rivals (non-subscriber) today. Interesting that he still has us squarely in the mix with Ramsey, which would be spectacularly good news. In a later twitter answer, Bossi put us in the mix with Bouknight, but feels that Bouknight is likely to stay out east. The article is as follows: "The hope for Archie Miller and I’m sure all of Indiana’s fans is that at least two-thirds of that recruiting class is made up of homegrown five-star prospects Keion Brooks and Trayce Jackson-Davis. At a minimum, the Hoosiers are the clear favorite for Jackson-Davis. Not only would I be a bit surprised if the 6-foot-9 big man didn’t pick the Hoosiers, the entire recruiting world would be surprised. He starts the visit process this weekend with a trip to UCLA and we should at least pay attention to what he has to say after the visit and he’s got visits for Iowa, Michigan State, Purdue and Wake Forest set as well but I’m just having a hard time seeing any of them winning out as of today. Then there’s Brooks, whose recruitment looks to be a bit tougher to read. He’s another that I give the Hoosiers the edge for but I don’t feel quite as strongly about them being a potential leader. Like Jackson-Davis, Brooks is scheduled to visit UCLA this weekend and he’s also got others like Michigan State, Kentucky, Louisville and North Carolina to name a few in the mix. Of those, Michigan State has been strong for a while too. The Hoosiers are also involved with five-stars: Isaiah Stewart – a New York transplant who attends high school at La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere with Brooks – and Trendon Watford, but I’m not sure I see it happening with either of them (especially if they get Jackson-Davis and Brooks). Top-35 big man Zeke Nnaji was in town over the weekend but his recruitment still appears to be wide-open but a guard is more important anyway. Rivals150 combo guard Armaan Franklin was on campus over the weekend and I see the Hoosiers battling it out with Purdue for him and I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing ends up happening with sharp shooter Brandon Newman. Another guy I would keep an eye on is Jahmius Ramsey. The top-40 guard from Texas is likely going to wait until the spring which is good for the Hoosiers, who should have answers on all of their other spots by the time the fall ends."

IU QB Dawkins Leaves IU program

In big boy football corner is probably the most important defensive position on the field.

    Summer of 2018

Yeah man. Closer with those grandparents than my parents. Appreciate it. Sad that he didn’t get to see this team come back. It’s funny. Sometimes most of the memories you have with those closest to you is sports. That’s the way it is with him and me. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

ESPN's Mitch Sherman predicts Indiana will play Southern Miss in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl (played in the Cotton Bowl, Dallas) on 12/26/2018. Small vote of confidence anyway. Please respond with your "too early to tell", "ESPN's usually wrong", and "too many bowl games" responses ad nauseum.

Agreed, Taylor is too talented to be playing cornerback.

IU QB Dawkins Leaves IU program

I guess from Dawkins standpoint he lost out as starter due to an injury back at AZ and thought he would become the starter here. Now to be named 2nd or 3rd is a bad situation. As long as we can stay healthy I think this is good for IU. He was only here for a year as an experienced hand. It's too bad he wasted his time with us and likewise we wasted our time with him. It would have been nice to give Penix and Taylor more time to practice (knowing Ramsey wouldn't have lost time with or without Dawkins.) I just hope we don't have injuries and are saying "if only" later this year.

IU QB Dawkins Leaves IU program

Dawkins is statistically less of a passer than Ramsey. If you were concerned with having Ramsey then Dawkins wasn't likely the solution either.

Yeah and they were the two QBs we had to play with. One a A senior with a josh Allen arm strength and no touch. The other playing his first season of college football as a backup and starter lol. Of course there were mis reads with Ramsey. Still don’t get why kids can’t get better one season to the next? I’ll trust the coaches as this is their job. And I forgot some IU fans are still caught up in last season. Hey y’all wake up it’s a new season. Players can develop still. They don’t stop developing once they leave hs. It’s the 18-19 season. Go Hoosiers.

(2019) SG Armaan Franklin to IU

Just my gut. Which my gut also said we would get Romeo the day CAM was introduced which I posted on here. I get what you're saying but I also know first hand that recruiting is very fluid thing that changes all the time. We will see come April what the class looks like for sure.

I don't know about you guys, but free Buffa Louie's wings for 4 years would have sealed the deal for me.

Despite being caught red handed passing literal bags of cash to players, nothing poses a threat to derail the freight train that is Kansas recruiting. Yahhhhh! College Basketball. Where to be the best, you’ve got to beat those that pay the best! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

The 'iced out' jersey with the script would be nice IMO.

I told you they weren’t adding seats, like, last year. This project was announced 4 years ago. How is it possible that you still thought they were adding thousands of seats? How was it not necessary? Every sport will use this and it clears up more space for a new football locker room. You’re way out in left field on this. Look:

Just my opinion, but I think our basketball uniforms are fine. I like the fact that we haven't changed them over the years -- I'd rather have that than a new design every other year like some schools do. I do, however, like the idea of wearing a script Indiana jersey every now and then. As for black jerseys -- in basketball, football or any sport -- no, no, a thousand times no. Black is Purdue's color. We are cream and crimson (or essentially, red and white). There's no black in the equation. Hell, if we're gonna wear black, why not wear blue like Kentucky. Or green like Michigan State. Let's stick with our school colors.
