bad news for Kansas state.....a 16 seed has never lost in a second round game!!!

So, UK gets Buffalo next and either UMBC or Kansas State after that...because of course they do.

I always thought the day when a 16 beat a 1 it would be like a down to the last possession kind of game. Nope.....an @$$ kicking. Weird

So glad the upset finally happened, and it felt awesome to watch it, but.... I just wish it could have happened to a different team like Duke, UNC, UK, etc. UVA seems like they have good kids, 4 year players unlike those aforementioned schools. We were watching it at my house and just felt bad for Virginia.

I feel bad for Virginia and their fans though. Really has to hurt to be the first one but with that said very happy for UMBC.

UMBC tied with UVA at 21. UMBC needs to convert their 3rd downs more often in the 2nd half to stay in the game.

On one hand, my bracket's done. On the other hand, years and years from now when IU finally gets good enough to actually make the tourney again be a #1 seed, I won't have nightmares in the days leading up to the game about us being the first 1 seed to do this.

We have two open a schollies. Give me a guard (Romeo or grad transfer) and a big (grad transfer). I get Smith's skill set is more of a college 4 at this time but he and Hunter both need to work to play the 3. Minutes distribution Phinisee/Green/Durham (20/15/5) Romeo/Durham/Anderson (30/5/5) Smith/Hunter/Durham (20/10/5) Morgan/Thompson/Smith (25/10/5) Davis/Morgan (20/5/?) Give me a grad transfer that can contribute 20 minutes to allow Morgan to play the 4. I don't want to see small ball Morgan, Smith, Durham front courts. The ironic thing is that my son was asking me yesterday if a 16 has ever beaten a 1 seed, and I told him no, but there had been some close calls in the past. Then I said if a 1 seed would lose to a 16, it would be a 1seed like Virginia, and then tonight happens.

Like I said, Virginia just doesn't score enough. Xavier, Kansas and Villanova win this game going away because they wouldn't be struggling to break 50.

I don't entirely disagree, but I would also say Morgan is a much better 4 than 5. So IU benefits by him NOT having to defend the other teams post.
