Personally, I only agree with information in this thread that agrees with me. Luckily, I don’t pretend to have a clue so I don’t have to come up with crazy @$$ conspiracy theories in both directions daily based upon the information given. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Al is averaging 18.8 minutes per game this year. That's really good for a 3 star freshman at a Big 10 school. If he's not happy with his playing time he must've really had unreasonable expectations.

According to rabjohns romeo could delay plan to announce at McDonald’s game if he hasn’t made it to Indiana for one last visit. The visit to Indiana will be his last college visit. Tim also said if his mind is made up at the McDonald’s game he will just announce. Sounds like the want to get down to Bloomington one last time before he announces if he is still undecided at the McDonald’s game Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Ahhhhh, a little fresh Romeo talk! So nice!

The way I took it was that if Romeo is still considering Vandy and KU at the point of the McD game then Tim would like for him to put his decision off until he has another chance to visit IU. If Romeo already knows he wants to go to IU by then or had his visit then he will announce it there. Seems very clear to me that Tim, at least him, wants Romeo to go to IU and I think that is as big a persuasive individual that there is in this recruitment. Yes I know it's hard to believe he'd be more of an influence than Garland but I believe that it is true. I'm not one for making predictions or getting my hopes up for a kid but I'd say from that aspect it has to be a positive for IU. MOST of the time parents have their children's best interest at heart and I have no reason to believe otherwise in this case as I suspect Romeo believes it to be true as well.

So this could go past the McDonald's All America game? Ugh have mercy.

Does anyone remember the last trip CZ made to IU to check out academics and KSOB just before his announcement? Just saying!

    Corruption in College Basketball

Does anyone remember how much money Pitino was going to get paid by Adidas? There are so many things the NCAA can’t control but this is one thing they can. A coach should not be getting millions upon millions from a shoe company without expecting a conflict of interest. That to me is craziness. Everyone in the media is quick to point out shoe companies and AAU. But they never bring this up. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

If he wants to go, then.....bye. A low-ranked freshman (or a former coach of a current freshman, at least) whining about playing time? Yeah I don’t have time for that. I couldn’t really care less.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

The longer this recruitment goes, the less interested I find myself with it. Anyone else in the same boat? I’m just really at peace with what Archie brings to the table and what he will accomplish in the coming years. Could Romeo be a part of that? Absolutely. But in the grand scheme of things, he will mean very little. Archie will be developing players and keeping us in the hunt for years to come, with or without Romeo. It just doesn’t make sense to me anymore to fret over a guy who will be here 1 year when we have so many other exciting players to watch grow. Just my opinion as of late.

This makes sense from what I heard. The he wanted to be sure for a week or so before announcing and the dates possibly getting pushed back. I said IU would likely get to make a final pitch, but i didn't know the IU visit was going to be the reason he was possibly gonna delay his decision if he does delay it just to make sure he gets to talk to Archie. Like I said not a done deal yet but this also doesn't mean we're getting him. Definitely good news though for sure.

We've already sent the message by being in his final 3. We've also already sent the message by recruiting Indiana kids in the 19, 20 classes. The message has been received by the Indiana HS coaches and state AAU coaches. Also were making the tourney next year with or without Romeo.

Could be, but it would have to be a pretty weak “like” if he’s willing to push back the McDonald’s Game announcement. I’ve always maintained that the McDonalds Game announcement doesn’t mean it’s Vandy or KU, but if it is Vandy or KU the McDonalds Game is the only place that makes sense. So that he’s willing to potentially push that date is a big sign IMO.

I read that differently. To me wanting to get another IU visit before declaring makes me think he wants to see if visiting again changes his mind. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Happens a lot, people just see what they want to see. If they want to see him wrong they will focus on all the times he didn’t call something right, if they want to see him right they will focus on the times he was right. It’s quotes from Tim Langford so hopefully he knows what he is talking about Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Oh I agree. The ebbs and flows of this recruitment cause the fanbase to get a little nutty, which no doubt makes it more tiresome. My stance is more about feeling confident in Archie and his ability to get the most out of his players. With Crean, I knew we needed talent to win because I had no faith in his coaching ability. Now that it’s changed, I’m less worried about reeling in the Romeo’s of the world and fretting over their recruitments. I’m not saying we don’t need talent or the 5 stars to compete nationally, we do. I just don’t believe we’re doomed if we whiff on most of them or a specific one like Romeo.

Turned on the Duke vs VT game just in time to see Gracie do his patented flop on a pull up jumper. That sort of thing really drives me nuts. Crowd was chanting BS and Buzz Williams goes to the scorers table and gets a microphone to tell the crowd to shut it. Good for him

Interesting. I think Archie has been pretty fair with the guards. Archie has played the hot hand. Problem is no one really grabs it and holds onto it. Green has moments that are REALLY high and moments that are really low. Durham has moments that he gets nothing done for stretches. Newkirk is the one that has gotten more minutes than maybe he deserved. But Archie has given Durham and others a chance to grab those minutes and no one has really seized the chance. Lots of speculation. My favorite though is they seem to be genuinely sanctimonious! How about this quote: "Another one we were on, but didn't get. Starting to see a pattern of guys Cal was after and either backed off, or shocked everyone by picking someone else. I think that alone is a strong indication Cal is not involved in paying recruits. At all." Poor Cal got beat out on a recruit by all those dirty guys. No one can be that deluded, can they? Kentucky is THE poster child for the high-profile one and done recruit and they think it's Texas, Mich St and UNLV that are the bad guys? Like most issues with Kentucky, sad and pathetic.
