He has said that one of the reasons he is attending so many games is to get a handle on CAM's offense. He wants to be as prepared as possible when he gets to campus. Can't get enough guys like that!

The thing I just realized about Phinisee is how much he already cares about IU. He clearly gives a damn, evidenced by how many times he's been to Assembly Hall this year. He would have played yesterday if given the chance. That's going to matter big time.

    MSU....Heat on Izzo?

Exactly. Why does it take a raging pedophile to bring this to light (or make it matter). It was reported and then just kinda went away and I was shocked that nothing was done by the University. And the media just seemed to turn it's back on it and it was back to praising Izzo and how great he is in March. No wonder it's such a wide spread issue. Another case of don't mess with the bottom line... The media is cracking me up with all this shock of what happen back in 2010. 'No ****' Why didn't you clowns 'blow it up' back when they were still playing for Mich St? Why was this not an issue in 2010? --> Absurd is a good word. It's truly shocking that the pedophile was able to do those things for so long.

I was talking with a friend at work today. He was telling me that his dad went to watch Phinisee play and reported back that Phinisee is a fantastic player. We are going to love him as IU. The reason I bring this up is that his dad played basketball at Ohio St back in the day and keeps up with high school and big ten basketball still. So it’s not just a random guy watching and giving an impression.

Nobody vilifies Allen because he tripped a guy. He's a serial tripper AKA a punk. My opinion.

    Purdue at IU Game Thread

Timehop reminded me this morning that 5 years ago today, IU beat Purdue by 37 points at Mackey Arena. 97-60 IU was 19-2, Purdue 11-10

I actually wanna say he has gone to at least a handful of home games. I went to the IPFW game and whenever we go we sit tight and let the crowd file out and then walk down to the floor and out. After I grabbed my empty water bottle, pizza box, and wiped up all my tears, i saw him there with who I was assuming was his girlfriend. I walked right by him after the game over by the IU bench. I also saw him there in the stands watching the Duke game and Purdue game. (I like trying to see if I can find recruits at the game on tv, ha). Phinisee has been to just about all of them.

i hope you intended to be sarcastic, but in case you were serious, reaching out with an arm can be done for a number of reasons, most of which are legitimate parts of the game. tripping, or kicking an opposing player in the nuts are done solely with the intent to cause physical harm.Pretty simple concept...for most of us, anyway.

Please feel free to move- debated about whether to put this in regular forum. I am in the middle of a 3 hour webinar (as an old guy, that word annoys me like few others), and not paying attention. While poking around for IU news, I found this article from 2015 from IndyStar... These prospects may just be sophomores, but you should definitely get used to hearing their names. Here are the updated Class of 2018 rankings from IndyStar Prep Insider Kyle Neddenriep: 1. Romeo Langford, New Albany: The 6-4 Langford is a big-time prospect. He averaged 17.6 points and 5.8 rebounds as a freshman and is off to a great start to his sophomore year. He has offers from Indiana, IUPUI, Purdue, UCLA and Vanderbilt – so far. 2. Damezi Anderson, South Bend Riley: The 6-5 Anderson recently visited Indiana and has plenty of Division I interest. He is averaging 17.5 points and 6.8 rebounds this season. 3. Kevin Easley, Lawrence North: The 6-6 Easley has attracted several Division I offers already, including Butler, Indiana, Purdue, Cincinnati, Saint Louis, Temple and Xavier. Recruiting: Updated Class of 2016 Indiana basketball rankings 4. Eric Hunter, Tindley: The 6-3 lefty guard is a name to know. IUPUI and Kent State have offered. Hunter is averaging 23.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.6 steals. 5. Musa Jallow, Bloomington North: The 6-5 guard has offers from Indiana, IUPUI and Toledo. Jallow is averaging 16.5 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists. 6. Austin Boucher, Fort Wayne South Side: The 6-3 guard is picking up plenty of Division I interest. He’s averaging 25.1 points, 4.1 assists and 2.2 steals per game as a sophomore. Recruiting: Updated Class of 2017 Indiana basketball rankings 7. Antwaan Cushingberry, Lawrence North: The 5-8 guard is a dynamic playmaker. He has an offer already from New Orleans. 8. Walter Ellis, South Bend Adams: The 6-4 Ellis already has an offer from Valparaiso. His father is former Notre Dame and NBA standout LaPhonso Elllis. 9. Brennan Schofield, Hamilton Southeastern: The 6-8 Schofield already has offers from IUPUI and St. Francis (Pa.). He is averaging 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds as a sophomore. 10. Jimmy Beane, South Bend Clay: The physical 6-4 guard was impressive over the summer.

I didn't realize this: we don't have one active player with an Assist Rate higher than his Turnover Rate. (De'Ron Davis did, slightly.) In fact, the last player to do so was Yogi in 2016 -- he did it all 4 years. Last non-Yogi player was @JordanHulls1 in '13. Wow. #iub@assemblycall Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

IU needs to do more to physically assist students getting to games. I lived near the square when I was at IU for undergrad, and unless we wanted to doll out $20+/game for parking, it was quite a hike in the middle of winter to get to games, especially on weeknights when you had to juggle classes. We made 95% of the games, and this was during Crean's first three years, so kudos to us, but the school needs to provide shuttle service from the union, and possibly both the mall and downtown, to get the casual student fans to games. I know it sounds pathetic, but when you factor in that students are usually coming from classes to weeknight games with IU's bag policy, it's a huge hassle to have to go back to your apartment/dorm/house just to drop off your bag to head back two miles to 17th street. They shut down the bus routes around Assembly Hall an hour or so before games, so you can't take traditional campus transportation right to the stadiums on game day. If IU still allowed traditional backpacks into the arena, as well as totes and non-clutch pocketbooks, this wouldn't be as big of an issue for students. The tickets are being bought, so it's not necessarily a lack of interest in the product (though parts of this season have left much to be desired) but a lack of support to assist students in the face of new security policies. I know this is only part of the problem, but when coupled with a lackluster product, it adds to the issue. And like what was already mentioned, this isn't only a problem at IU.

Anderson has been to a lot of games too. We will need his shooting if he’s ready year 1.

If you're in the entertainment business, which Indiana basketball is, and you're having attendance issues, improve your entertainment value. It's not the consumers fault they don't want to consume your product. It's Indiana's job to make their product more desirable than the other products on the market. Simple business concepts here.

Good news is that he didn't suffer a broken ankle. From Blackford Athletics an update on Luke Brown (from dad): Diagnosis is a bone bruise and strain on soft tissue. When Luke planted his foot his fibula bone jammed into the body of the ankle causing a bone bruise, thus the reason it is difficult to bear weight. Hopefully back within a couple of weeks.
