In the spring, Romeo could sign here, could sign at Vandy, could sign at Kansas, could sign at none of the above and somewhere else. Don't get too hung up on the recruiting. With Phinisee, Anderson, Hunter, and Forrester, we have a top 15 class....and throw in Thompson who really is a 2018 signee given the redshirt. Top 15 classes with coaches who can coach can do wonders. We've seen what happens with top ten classes with coaches who couldn't. Anyone, root for the guys who wear cream and crimson and want to be here and wish the ones who decide to go elsewhere luck -- unless they are playing the guys wearing cream and crimson.

Remember, Archie visited a few days after HH when he allegedly almost committed. My total guess is Archie asked for a commitment, Darius struggled and almost did When he didn’t, IU moved on, didn’t visit again, and that may be viewed as a slap in the face by DG, so now UCLA is publicly 2nd. Moving on.....

If you watch after Al makes the layup he chest bumps the ball a little bit. Ref blew his whistle and I think gave a warning for delaying the game. Could have been called a technical and I think that’s why Archie seemed upset

I️ hope we get a chance to play Vandy two years from now, and RP wipes the floor with Garland. I️ have nothing against DG but I’m not gonna watch his games and root for him really. A lot of guys on the board are saying they wish Garland the best, they’ll root for him, and things of that matter, but I’m in the group probably that just doesn’t mind him. Good for him for finding his school, if he plays well, good for him, but I️ won’t be rooting for or against him at this point. Just another player in the way of our Hoosiers. Robert Johnson may not have. But I promise you kids from around here know. Tradition is tradition. People who truly understand will always know. That's exactly why any coach at IU needs to recruit from the inside out. This is a unique place with a unique culture. If a kid doesn't understand that, he'll look like Johnson looks sometimes. Like a disinterested bystander. DIsclaimer : This is my opinion, and I've never wavered from it. I know many disagree, but in my own head, my evidence speaks for itself. So many players beginning with Bracey Wright et al. Has anyone seen he or Robert Strickland since they graduated? Those are 2 examples, but they were "help is on the way." Those two started my belief (it was unspoken before) that Indiana needed to recruit from the inside out. Culture matters. In my opinion.

I have no problem with his decision but I do think he made the wrong decision. But that’s based through my older eyes. Kids always think they can change the world but what makes a program like IU more appealing is that long after you stop playing basketball fan bases like IU will always remember you and treat you right. I saw Chaney not too long ago and I was jaw dropped. More connections, but again I’m looking at it through an old man’s eyes.

I know it's already been said, but I'm glad Archie got those commits in July and then went after the big fish. Crean would have done it the other way around and that's how you end up with our last two recruiting classes.

He'll know he made the wrong choice when Vanderbilt loses at home in front of 7,000 fans and he goes home and sees IU taking down a highly ranked team on Sports Center.

To quote the great Ricky Bobby “if you’re not first you’re last”. Doesn’t bother me at all he said we finished third or wherever. He chose Vandy for reasons he thought was best for him, good for him. We didn’t get him now on to the next. Once Archie gets 1-2 of his classes here I️ think we’re going to start seeing quick improvements. Noting against Creans guys but they’ve had 3-4 years of bad non fundamental basketball pounded in to them. IUs outlook for the future is still very bright in my eyes. We certainly had to go through a hell of a lot worse with the team that Crean inherited when he came in. We'll get some things turned around and some of the shortcomings won't this season. Everyone ripping Blackmon last year needs to be reminded how good of an offensive player and needs to stop blaming all of our defensive shortcomings on him.

I think this is why Brad Stevens has absolutely no interest in ever returning to the college game. ... Well that, plus he's doing a pretty damn good job in Boston. ... And Billy Donovan as well (no interest in returning to college hoops).
