I watched him play several times in HS. He was a lot like James. JBJ took 80% of the shots. Vijay plays very similar. Not the level of shooter as James at that time. He was having a lot of success at St. Francis in the early going. Put up good numbers after James left in HS. Always seemed a little smaller. (He was 2-3 years younger in HS). Haven't seen it posted here, so forgive me. If someone else did. Italian player David's Moretti has set four visits up. Would be eligible this year. 6 3 combo guard. Other schools were Texas Tech and Utah (I don't recall the fourth). Moretti is ranked by NBA draft.net as the 13th best international player born in 1998.

I think people are reading too much into the "lack of faith" in our guards angle. We have an open scholly, and this guy would likely be a legit 4 star recruit if he was born in the US. I have a feeling that Archie sees an opportunity to add a very talented building block to our roster, and would be looking to add someone of Moretti's caliber regardless of position. Not to mention that two of our five guards are seniors.

At St. Francis, he played the role of offense off the bench and was pretty successful at it. Averaged 9.2 ppg despite only playing 14.4 mpg. Shot 42% from the field but 43% from three (28 of 65 in 22 games). Left St. Francis on Jan. 26.....don't know the circumstances surrounding him leaving.

Watched Vijay quite a bit in HS. Him & Reggie Jones who is a member for WMU now. Vijay is one of the best walk ons in the country and I truly believe he will be a good addition. I don't expect him to be a star or anywhere near his brother, but I could see him having a decent career here. Now we have to be the leaders for Jalen which is a great reason even if it was the only reason to bring in Vijay. Jalen will be a 5 star player when it comes time. In kind of somewhat sorta related news, MSU recently picked up a commitment from 2018 4* PF Thomas Kithier. 6'8", 210 lbs means that's someone Brooks would have to compete with for minutes in the front court at MSU. That definitely means Brooks should stay home and play for IU. No question.

He's visiting UConn, which has a clear cut point guard in Jalen Adams (he averaged 6 assists per game and he'll only be a junior next year). Utah's point guard spot is wide open....their starter graduated and the player who would have stepped into the spot was suspended at the end of the year and transferred to NC State. Keenan Evans is the point guard at Texas Tech, although he's a shoot first guy.....but he'll be back as a senior next year. If Moretti is simply looking for playing time next season, Utah is a no brainer. I would think with the mix of schools he choose to visit, it's not all about playing time next year.

I don't believe Romeo is an active Twitter user so don't get overly concerned.

Let's not get too carried away, he's also following Jalen Carey, Race Thompson, Cole Swider, Keion Brooks, James Wiseman and Darius Garland. While it's a very positive sign - and an impressive group of kids - I'm not ready to declare him as Marni's replacement as Chief Twitter Spy.

It is simple. He wants to make sure he has at the very least an above average pg next year. He can also play off the ball as well so doesn't mean we couldn't sell Garland on coming if this kid ends up being the real deal. This takes the pressure off for a big time PG in 18 class to where Archie can just build relationships with Carey, Garland and Phinisee. I like the move more for the future, but even more for this year. We have Hartman, Juwan, Moore, DD, McSwain & Smith up front. I am one of the select few who is fine with the big man situation. It could also be as simple as CAM doesn't think there's a big available that can help the team next year and that Moretti is too talented not to take a look at. A team can never have enough shooters and we are going to need guards anyways in a year's time when Newkirk and RoJo graduate.

Not saying he owes his career to the brawl but the guy probably should be sending a christmas card every year to the guy that threw the beer
