    #IUBASE vs Louisville

What an amazing experience at Bart Kaufman field tonight. My nephew eats, breaths, and sleeps baseball and everything IU. We took him up to the game and was treated to an experience that has him hooked as a Hoosier. We sat right behind home plate, his birthday was announced (thanks to the baseball marketing tent), he received a ball from a student manager (thanks Danny from Minnesota), and had all the players sign it on the field after the game. A few of the players were joking with him that they were in need of another lefty pitcher and could use him in their series with O$U. He politely declined due to a travel ball tourney coming up. Also, the Louisville players were gracious in defeat. I talked to Michael Bollmer on the field after the game. He was excited for my nephew and spoke highly of the Hoosiers baseball program. He's an extremely well spoken and genuine young man. The whole setup IU has going is great for all ages. There were some older gentlemen sitting around us that welcomed my nephew. I know the only games left at BK field this year are for the B1G tourney but I highly recommend going to a game. And the magical Btown has changed in appearance but hasn't changed what it makes you feel. Love that place!!

The takes in this thread are hilarious. Rojo can't be civil with his dad now because reporters jumped the gun on him returning? Lol. Ever think it's possible reporters got wind of something and could be wrong? Stop chastizing Rojo and saying you don't want him back because he's thinking about his future. Everyone on here would be glad to have him back and they're kidding themselves if they think him leaving would be any kind of positive.

The Celts could draft him and then trade him to the Pacers for PG. Old man Ball would be bouncing off every backboard in the country.

We had one narrow path to victory and somehow we navigated down it! Their one bad pitcher was their weekday starter and we got to him fast. We had no chance against their bullpen but somehow our mediocre bullpen held on for about 5 innings and we just beat the no. 2 team in the country to stop their 15 game win streak. Barring a collapse we are dancing and want nothing to do with this Cardinal team in postseason!

200 minutes to divide up: Four guards in regular rotation for about 100 minutes per game: RoJo (28), Josh (25), DeVonte (25), CuJo (20) + a little bit of Al. Five bigs in regular rotation for 100 minutes per game: DeRon (26), Juwan (26), Collin (24), Freddie (10), Justin (14) + a little bit of Clifton. Need someone to be able to carve out space and get to the rim; that's what Al Durham does best, and if that's our biggest weakness he might get a little more run than expected. If Clifton can replace a rotation guy, that means he is more ready than we thought, and the team is better than we thought. Sounds like a solid tourney team to me.

I really like the potential of Jaylen Brown as well. I think with Ainge/Stevens that the Celtics will be the Spurs of the East soon. (I understand the Celtics have way more history, etc just the way they operate in a no nonsense team first organization)

Awesome week to be a C's fan!! I think Fultz is the guy if they don't trade the pick. I'm actually hoping they keep it and sign Hayward as a Free Agent. They really need rim protection and length/athleticism on the wing, but I think at #1 you have to go BPA, and Jaylen Brown looks like he's going to be really good.

I think him and Ball are on that clear top tier. Ingram's body was going to hold him back. Fultz doesn't have that issue. I was very impressed by him individually. I don't see any way he isn't 1st. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

BTW Schwarber just homers for Cubs so hope that's a good omen! Great D gets us a clean 8! Sowers a diving catch in right, than a great play by Miller at 3rd on a ground out off a high chop. Than Herrin comes in and K's best hitter in country! 3 outs away now.

Summary from last weekend's EYBL event for the Bradley Beal Elite squad (Darius Garland). The Bradley Beal Elite Eagles entered Atlanta with a level of uncertainty, traveling south without their sophomore big man James Wiseman. They left as arguably the most confident team on the circuit heading into the final session. Darius Garland has done a tremendous job leading this tightly-knit group, one that found it's stride in Atlanta. BBE led EYBL Atlanta in average margin of victory, blowing out four opponents by an average of 20.3 points per game. Sophomore EJ Liddell moved up to 17U in Atlanta, and proved to be a valuable contributor. The 6-foot-7 bruiser averaged 9.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in four games, and he'll figures to improve on those numbers when Wiseman returns. Six players combine to average between 5.6 and 9.0 points per game, highlighting the extreme depth of head coach Corey Frazier's BBE Eagles. Sophomore Francis Okoro (8.2 PPG, 8.7 RPG) is quietly turning into one of the most productive bigs in the league. Garland (17.0 PPG, 4.9 APG, 3.0 RPG, 1.1 SPG) is BBE's heart and soul, and has remained incredibly consistent through 12 games. If he continues to produce, you're looking at one of the primary contenders for the Peach Jam crown in July.

Thompson is the big we end up with IMO. Him along with Garland or Romeo or even both with Phinisee or Carey as well as another wing is the best case scenarios for us. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

I truly believe JBJ finds his way onto a team next year. He will probably go back and forth the league and d league but he will have his shot. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

I think DeRon will end up being our best player next season. If he puts in the work this offseason and buys in the sky is the limit

Anyone complaining about this has no concept of the due diligence necessary when a state institution pays $23 million to hire someone to a highly scrutinized and very public job opening. Honestly, for $90k it sounds like we got off pretty cheap.
