A knowledgeable ND poster said he believes Niles is going to end up at IU and that he will likely not lose any eligibility for transferring as it is seemingly an admissions oversight causing him to have to leave ND.

Hope that the team is well conditioned and we can play small ball utilizing a lot of full court pressing to negate lack of a big presence in the paint on defense and get easy transition buckets. Assuming Hanner plays 28 minutes, it shouldn't be too much to ask that we can press effectively for 12 minutes.    Didn't I read on here that Devin grew an inch or two? Hopefully he bulks up and can hold his own in the paint. Maybe if we can't run a lot we can send 4 or 5 to rebound and pray we have an efficient half court offense.    Honestly, we know depth in the front court is going to a problem. Heres to hoping Crean can minimize it better than me  :lol:

Why not play Hanner all 40 minutes? :)

Absolutely glad to hear that Hanner has been awesome. I kind of remain cautious on it though. It's one thing to be awesome against April/Priller/Davis in practice, it's an entirely different thing to be good against Anthony Lee, Hammons, and the rest of the Big Ten.    Not worried about JBJ's start to these practices, your first few college practice can be an absolute shock, in terms of what's expected and how hard you have to work. He'll adjust and get comfortable. 

I don't know I kind of want to kick Maryland around a few thousand times!

Pressing is a thought, and I like the thought, but how often have we actually seen us run a true press?  Usually if we see any pressure it's just a player shadowing the ball handler up the court.

i'm much more optimistic about this team in terms of confidence, relationships, maturity, and overall connecting with one another in comparison to last years team.  I really believe, IMO, that we could have been much better last year if everyone clicked better.  Our player's twitter accounts, pics, and conversations about the team have me believing that they are all working well together and if that's the case, we should definitely see that translate onto the court.
