    MLB Draft

With the Cubs drafting Schwarber it basically guarantees that he will never win a World Series. Check my stats using BtownBanners

    MLB Draft

The Chicago Cubs selected Kyle Schwarber, making him the highest Hoosier ever selected in the Draft. He's been described as possibly the best power bat in the draft. Great accomplishment for a great player. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Nope. Seems to be a few others leaving NC as well but not sure how related they all are.      In regards to the UL thing...the Gordon's are going to allow and encourage Eron to go through the process, so definitely expect him to take his visits and such. Not sure how many of the big boys will pull the trigger but there will be interest and I'd fully expect him to take a look around, as he should, imo.

    Awesome QB! Welcome to IU!

This coaching staff continues to land very good talent on the offensive side of the ball. Even in years when they aren't getting all the breaks on the recruiting trail, they're good enough teachers to develop some fine players out of average talent. Now, if we can just get both the talent and teaching on the Defensive side of the ball, we'll start making waves.   GO IU!

    #USMNT - 2014 World Cup

I can't wait for the WC. I was not a soccer fan at all up until about 6 months ago. Got curious, did some research on the EPL and how European leagues are set up, picked a team (Everton), and started following on Saturday and Sunday mornings. It started as another hobby, and now I absolutely cannot get enough. I was always intrigued about how the world's most popular sport could be maybe the 7th or 8th most popular in the US? We missed the boat for sure. Someone earlier in the thread said soccer was too slow and boring. I used to have that typical American attitude as well. But its simply just not taking the time to understand the game. Once I did, its an absolutely fascinating sport that (like I said earlier) I cannot get enough of. Right now I hate that I can't wake up on Saturday and Sunday mornings and flip on NBC Sports network for some footy. My wife and I are going to Italy in September and we're going to catch a Serie A game if we can. There is a NPSL (4th tier) team that started here just this season that is 100% supporter owned so my wife and I both bough founder's memberships as well. The sport is certainly growing here! Anyway, I've rambled enough.    Go USA! Go Everton! Go Nashville FC!

    Eron Harris to MSU

Given our very guard-heavy roster, it's hard to be surprised at the lack of interest by Harris/pursuit by us.   Then, there's this from the Purdue Rivals Board:     KeatonsCorner WVSports.com Re: Eron Harris Reply A little info from a WVU fan with connections to the Basketball Department. This will, undoubtedly to some, sound like "just another WVU fan mad at Harris leaving" but here is truth about his transfer: Eron Harris believed that Huggins did not praise him in the media enough, as he did B12 1st Team PG Juwan Staten, and it cost Harris post-season honors (he was voted honorable mention in the B12). Over the last half of the season, Harris became VERY confrontational to his coaches and teammates, during practices and witnessed by many when flying to/from basketball games.  It got to the point he wouldn't even sit with them on the planes. ANYWAYS.... As soon as the season ended, Eron Harris approached the Coaching staff, demanding better treatment or he was going to transfer............... yes, he used the demand to 700+ win coach Bob Huggins...... and Huggins called his bluff basically.  Eron is an offensive talent, no doubt. One of the elite perimeter shooters in the country. He arrived to Morgantown hungry and very humble, as he had underachieved his senior year in HS (14pts/game for .500 team that had previously won titles). Somewhere, over the course of his Sophomore season, his ego grew to be ridiculous, and to quote our Head Coach "His head has just gotten enormous". A year sitting out can easily change this in a kid who developed some bad influences once he tasted national recognition though....... and I think whoever gets Harris, as long as they don't force him to play defense, will get a great scorer.  I do know that when Rick Pitino reached out to Harris the morning he finally got his release, Coach P also talked to Huggins, and immediately withdrew his interest in the player... If I were Purdue, I'd be pursuing Terry Henderson instead. Just as capable at scoring as Harris, but with a better work ethic, good family, and an inch taller and much larger wingspan.

    Eron Harris to MSU

We have so many new posters here ready to say how doomed we are! About time someone poured some cold water on all the optimism around here.

This is the guy to get in this class. It's very realistic, at this point, but hard to project that far ahead with the current state of the program.
