Open Scholarship spots

Jurkin will graduate next year. Problem solved. His spot will be open for 2015. No need to go HAM on a great guy like Peter. He's had some very unfortunate medical situations that haven't allowed him to show what he can do. With so much time/experience lost, he will likely never see the floor. Peter is a great student and will easily finish his degree next year. I get the frustration, but just spend 5 minutes with Peter and you'll regret even thinking it.

Here we go....   You did not see a post referencing Crean.  You will not proceed to hijack this thread the way many others have been.  You will go about your business not knowing what was said.  Have a good day.

(2015) C Matt Heldt to Marquette

Kid has good skills. He has really improved each summer for the past 3 years. Like he said himself needs to get stronger and a bit more athletic. I do see him as a good 4 year college player. Team made State D 1 game last year and he had a very good tourney. I'll keep my ear to the ground about this kid, he plays in the same conference that I coach on the girls side. B1G tourney headed to DC in 2017

As a Maryland resident this is definitely exciting for me! In addition to IU, there are a lot of PSU, OSU, and Michigan alum in the DC-area. In addition to the exposure for the league, it has to be exciting for the athletes to visit a new city like DC. As long as the tournament is not held on the east coast on a regular basis I don't think this is as big a deal as most are making it to be. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

    Indiana Pacers 2.0

    *  Vogle is an idiot for thinking he could go back to the "normal" rotation and have success.  News flash you idiot, it wasn't just that the Hawks were a bad match up.  The Pacers have sucked since the All Star break.    *  It's about time West went after charmin boy.  I hope it was as heated as reported.    *  I saw someone wonder today on a Pacers message board if charmin boy was on the verge of a nervous break down because he has a facial tic that is getting worse.  For some dark reason that made me laugh.
Everyone has their own experiences of course, but mine more mirrors yours. I live in Maryland and get into DC several times a year, usually a Wizards game, Caps game and Nationals game, and have always found the Metro to be really clean. I've also always enjoyed the area surrounding the Verizon Center. Several cool bars and restaurants.
I'm with you. I've lived at least a few months everywhere from Detroit to Philly to DC and they were by far the nicest subway system. I grew up outside NY and there was far more hobo feces there than anywhere in DC.

    Open Scholarship spots

Scholarships are one year renewable.  So they could pull Jurkin's scholarship from him, he could also be given a Medical Exemption which means his schooling is still paid for as if he were on scholly but he doesn't count against the limit.   EDIT:  The Medical Exemption is what Saban does at Alabama.  Basically kicking players off the team that have injuries but not career ending injuries.  The player still has a scholarship essentially, but he's no longer on the team.  Ending their college careers but paying for their tuition.

    Eron Harris to MSU

Eron supposedly wants to come back home and IU has a scholarship open. I'd say the Hoosiers have a great shot.

I know change is inevitable, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I hate all of this conference realignment.

    Who is Middle School Bob??

Truly, and I mean this, truly one of the most butchered paragraphs I have ever seen on an IUBB forum in the 4 years I have been on them. Five thugs at once, middle school bob. That man is either typing with his elbows or doesn't read what he writes even marginally. He just types and hits send. And for that, we owe him a debt of gratitude.

I for one looked forward to the stiff competition of Mizzou/Navy on the NC schedule.  If we want to be the best, we have to beat the best.  CKW has brought in IU's best classes ever, back-to-back, without going to a bowl game.  What he has shown is progression on the field.  And where there has be regression, he is fixing it (ie Mallory).  These are steps in the right direction.  The tough NC competition is a barometer of how the season will go IMO.  Nothing wrong with testing these guys.  Why place a veil over their eyes and pump them full of false hope, by beating NAIA teams?  Then to get smacked up in a bowl game by par or above par competition?  I'd rather them play against quality competition, all year round.  Just my $0.02.
