Not sure if I should share this or not but the feedback IU is getting from the portal so far, from kids who should be a layup for IU is not going well. When a player's camp tells you that you need to change your offense and pay them a lot of money to get them it's not good.

Why are people worried about what a former poster that nobody listened to anyway or agreed with in the first place enough to post screenshots of their Twitter account? Just let him post his noise elsewhere. I hardly paid attention to it when it was on here I’m certainly not going to go out of my way to find it elsewhere.

1 thing I just realized we’ve never talked about around here: You won’t see videos of Tucker playing travel ball because he never played travel ball. He did a couple of top 100-type camps and played some international team ball, but otherwise his summers were all skill development work and school. He was so far ahead academically that last spring he was considered an almost certain reclass. At 1 point he was pretty much universally penciled into Mich St’s ‘23 class. Make no mistake, he’s kind of a different kid.

If a local kid picks Cincy over the current staff and coach then it’s time to reevaluate the direction the program with the current head coach. I still have a hard time believing he could go to Cincy over IU. I’m checked out on anything related to Woody already if this happens put me down as double checking out

I think I can answer both you and the sandwich: No. He does not. If we are playing to win games such as two years ago when we were a four seed? He did not play because the roster had enough actual talent. Glad Leal is a Hoosier but if he’s averaging over ten minutes a game? We. Are. Screwed.

It's getting to the point where I don't know who the bigger joke is Woodson or Dolson. Woodson for someone whose job is on the line and is doing nothing different than he has before. We are the best team in the country at getting visits. But here we are final four weekend and not a single commit besides an HS kid. He's not changing the offense, not changing how he recruits. Yes, we might still get a decent roster by the summer but he will still be the one to coach them. Dolson to sit back and think we're going to find gold by just throwing more money at the problem. We don't recruit the state, we don't contend for BT championships, and we have to fight to make the tourney every season, usually only qualifying for the NIT. He has let the program we love just go down the drain and has done nothing to fix it. Woodson said I'm not going anywhere and Dolson hid in the corner and cried. Sad state of affairs. Long time reader, first time poster. Coach Portal should have been shown the door at seasons end and definitely after his lone recruit left. It’s obvious that coach Portal and his staff doesn't want to put in the effort that it takes to be a good recruiter, let alone a great recruiter. The writing was on the wall when MM’s mom contacted coach Portal about her son wanting to play at IU! Now the team is going to go from a $hit show to one of a liquid form next year and a new coach won’t have a chance at getting his hooks into the 25’ class of in state players. It’s sad. I’ve been an IU fan for over 40 years now and I’ve never been so down on any team that I support in any sport, btw I’m a Cubs fan. I feel it’s only going to get worse because who would want to play for a lame duck coach that has split the fan base? I’m not a rocket scientist nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn, but I’d guess there aren’t very many! Btw Chris 007 keep doing what you do! Who cares if someone is butt hurt over something you said!

We’ve had one good guard in three years. I don’t care if we play 2 bigs if we have a couple quality guards on the floor. That changes things.

See this is where I have a problem. You’re over in the Fire Mike Woodson thread trying to convince every person how great we’re going to be. We are going to have to see it. I don’t care if you think you know more about offense than John Wooden. I don’t believe Mike Woodson has what it takes to win at a high level. Two kids who played in the PAC 10 transferring here isn’t changing my mind. I promise you I’ve been around this program a lot in the last 25 years. So you can tell me I don’t know basketball or I’m dumb but I’m not going to blindly follow our coach because we got a couple portal guys.

Trilly has put his prediction in for Rice to IU. The guy on the his discord earlier said that Rice was a Hoosier, also said that IU is pulling all the stops to make Ballo not take any visits after ours. We have a thread with over a 1,000 pages criticizing Woody so deflecting criticism is laughable. Unfortunately, we have a number of posters who just can't resist piling on him in almost every thread. Contrary to what you or others may believe, we do have some followers that want the thread content to match the title of the thread. They're interested in information on portal targets.

If you look at Box Plus Minus scores from the team last year, one thing stands out…Ware will be hard to replace. He’s a 8.5 BPM while the rest of the starters total BPM is 8.4 combined (Reneau: 4.4, Mgbako: 2.2, Gallo: 2.1, XJ: -0.3). To get “safely” back into the tournament you’ll need a start BPM total around 30-35. So without Kel’el, where is that hole getting filled? Let’s say you bump MM and MR to 15 combined (which is possible), you have to find another 15+ from the other 3 slots. Perkins is a 5 BPM. So he’s on target, but just barely. You might need one or two guys more in the 7 range like Nelson/Estrada from Bama. Either way, you’ll need to hit some home runs very soon.

Opened Btown Banners this afternoon to see what's up -- and notice a vague reference in the IU notes thread about Mgbako. Had no clue what it meant, so I investigated. Turns out ... HE'S COMING BACK No portal. No testing the NBA waters. Looks as if he's all in for 2024-25. Thought maybe we should make the news "official" here ...

I think we're in a great place with him. I normally wouldn't be wishing for a kid to leave ISU, but realistically he's outta there so it might as well be to Indiana. If I haven't been clear, I would literally die for Ryan Conwell.

Suggesting Leal playing at least 20 min a game is the secret formula for IU winning games is exactly what I would expect to see on page 943 of a fire Mike Woodson thread. Woodson has officially broken people's brains.

Clearly not easy being a fan of a program that seems to be declining rapidly and having basically 0 positive news since the end of the season. My advice to posters including myself is to take a step back from the noise for a second. Everyone wants the same thing in the long run. Getting haymaker after haymaker of bad news, bad vibes is going to take its toll. Emotions are high with people posting about something they are passionate and dedicated about something they love when it’s going in the wrong direction. What this board needs is a meet up where everyone sits down and have a few. That fixes a lot of issues. Can’t do that through posting. IU basketball is probably the lowest it’s been at any point since Creans first year but that doesn’t mean we as a forum has to follow them down that road. This board just needs a win or something positive to happen. To keep on topic Woody needs to go.

Got some pretty decent Easter intel on Perkins. Was told if it were up to mom, he’d be a Hoosier already. Wants him close to home and was sick of the back and forth drive from Iowa City. UCLA I was told is going to be the stiffest competition. Woodson on him harder than any other player they’re targeting.
