Nice win for the Colts. The defense was pretty iffy and couldn't cover anyone in the second half, but Brissett really played great. ... and I need to post this picture just so I don't have to read that idiotic Gottleib tweet anymore in the app.

    Needed that drive desperately.
  8. Got some CBs on 247. Hoosiers have been on him for some time now. Teammates of Sio, bonnohome, and current verbal nose guard sparks. Kid has some great pass rush ability. Really gets off the line and sheds blocks. https://247sports.com/Player/Geri-Theodore-46079955/

Unrelated yes but Penix is lauded for mobility and a strong arm. He blew out a knee in his first season and now has shoulder issues. This QB topic should probably focus more his durability.
  12. He’s done for the season. Definitely a dislocated ankle. What is like to see is for him to come back. He moves to right guard next season. You have a line from left to right Bedford. Beery. Crider. Cronk. Jones.

Nebraska struck first in the 13' minute and led 1-0 at halftime. Huskers scored again at 81' and win the game 2-0. Hoosiers with 11 shots, 3 on goal and 5 corners. Nebraska with 10 shots; 2 on goal and 5 corners. Next weekend the Hoosiers are on the road at Michigan State on Friday evening and at Michigan on Sunday afternoon.
  16. On another note Tiwan Mullen might be our best cover DB. He looked great yesterday. Cam jones is hungry and looked great as well. Lino ball has disappointed.
  17. Arm strength in this argument isn’t how far you can throw the ball....it’s how you can get it in the window....it’s if you can get the ball to the WR in time for him to make moves and get yards after the catch. Ramsey doesn’t allow WRs to get the ball and make moves he’s a good QB, but he doesn’t allow you to do a lot against athletic defenses. It’s plain and simple. Many football coverage people who have been to practices have stated that. Many commentators have commented on that matter. You have to allow your WRs to make plays. Yes Ramsey can complete passes, but eventually you need to hit them and stride and let them do what they can do. For example the pass to DHale....hale had to completely stop....if he leads him and throws it on a deep rope.....or even a rope to him in stride....it’s a TD. I believe we ended that drive going the other way and settled for a FG. People’s arguments aren’t can he throw it 45-65 yards on a dime....it’s can he get it in right windows and the answer is no. Most the time it’s behind, or WRs have to stop. This is why the coaches believe Penix can give them opportunities to win bigger games.....he allows WRs to make plays and turn up field. And bringing up the bsu and EIU games about how Penix was not great....he has at least 2-3 more tds. Does that make you happier? Because those aren’t on him....his WRs have dropped wide open balls....that’s not on him. His one INT was a bad read early in his first start. His second the WR ran a shallow route and slipped coaches have said that’s not on him. Ramsey has INTs as well....one didn’t have enough zip, went for pick six against osu. One was a floater against UConn. EIU he almost threw another pick 6. Luckily butter fingers lb couldn’t catch....the argument is getting it to WRs in time and not allowing the Defense to make plays and adjust to his lobs.
  18. I thought Crean did really well with Sheehey, Oladipo, Watford, Yogi, OG, amongst others. There are others I think he did a disservice to like Tom and Blackmon. Sometimes player development isn’t as much reaching new skills as it is changing a mentality and I thought he didn’t do a good job with those two. Maybe even Cody but Cody was still drafted in the top 5 so it’s hard to say even with a weak draft IU and Crean did nothing for him. But I have yet to be around a leader that had zero impact on me that I spend 40 hours a week for years on. If you guys have let me know what that’s like. I have no clue. But how is Crean having an effect on Jordan Geronimo? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Peyton Ramsey is 41st of 117 quarterbacks in YPA this year, 28th in passing efficiency rating, and 11th in completion percentage. Not bad.

Thomas Bryant was a 5 Star Talent that got drafted in the second round. Why are people now claiming this was an example of Creans development? OG was an unfinished product drafted based on where Pro Teams thought they could take him not where Tom Crean took him. As already stated Oladipo was self developed. So your left with Wade. 1 guy, developing one player does not make you great at player development. Otherwise Lebron James High school coach is the greatest ever.

    Fire Fred Glass

Fair enough. We all want the same thing - IU success. I do enjoy reading for sure, as you seem to be in the know more than most so I enjoy the back and forth as long as you do, hopefully I didn’t say anything to out of line as your all caps at the end would have me believe I may have. Like I said I wanted Archie from the get and I was one to drink the Cool-Aid with Crean at the beginning so I truly hope I’m not wrong again. I’m not naive enough to think that Glass has done a poor job as the facility upgrades alone are enough evidence to me that he’s got a vision for athletics moving forward and is getting IU back to a level playing field with the rest of the country. I just think in the Big10 there’s a way of conducting hirings and the Allen hiring left a bad taste in my mouth and I would love to eat my words on that. His attitude is infectious but when I look around the rest of the conference’s coaches I don’t see Allen as that enticing of an option for recruits of today, but winning goes along way with that and he very well may turn things around. Like I said I hope I’m wrong.

    IU Volleyball

Off to a fantastic start with another win Saturday afternoon. Conference play opens next Friday night at Minnesota. The Indiana volleyball team finished non-conference play with a 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-12, 25-21) win on Saturday to push their record to 11-2 heading into Big Ten play. Key Moments After dropping the first point of the match, Indiana scored six of the next seven and took a 6-2 lead on an ace by Deyshia Lofton. After a USF point, Indiana used a 4-0 run to go up 10-3 on a block by Breana Edwards and Jacqui Armer. USF made a late run to close the gap to two at 24-22, but Indiana put away the first set with a kill from Lofton. South Florida had three different spurts of 3-0 runs in the second set on the way to evening the match with a 25-18 set two victory. Up 9-6 in the third set, Indiana went on a 7-1 run to go up 16-7. The Hoosiers would continue the momentum and take the third set, 25-12. The Hoosiers jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the fourth set, but South Florida closed to within one at 12-11. Up 17-15 Indiana scored three straight points to go up 20-15 on a block by Kamryn Malloy and Deyshia Lofton and closed the match with a 25-21 win in set four. Notables The Hoosiers improved to 11-2 to finish non-conference play. Deyshia Lofton led Indiana with 13 kills and one error to hit .444 for the match Haley Armstrong led Indiana in digs with 17 and Victoria Brisack posted a double-double with 14 digs and 23 assists. The win was the seventh straight win for the Hoosiers. Jacqui Armer had eight kills and hit .438 against South Florida. For the tournament Armer hit .444 with 26 kills and two errors. Armer was named the MVP of the USF Invitational. Deyshia Lofton and Megan Sloan were also selected to the All-Tournament Team for the USF Invitational. Lofton has been selected for the All-Tournament Team in each of the Hoosiers four non-conference tournaments. Lofton hit .413 with 29 kills and three errors and added 14 blocks for the tournament.

    Fire Fred Glass

I could read this thread 100 times and not find a single piece of evidence anyone said Glass is above criticism. I'd also like you to justify in any way "the basketball record" as having one thing to do with him and please refer to my timeline a few pages back. Glass has nothing....absolutely zero to do with that, and he did what he had to do (took action) when he had to do it. Same with football. Donovan was not an option and he was never contacted. He's just a name like Brad Stevens was just a name. Timing with him never worked out. Miller was a good hire, and the "immediate satisfaction" crowd can wait a year or two to see it. The IUFB record under Glass is 48-78 with 2 bowl games. The record with coaches he hired save Wilson's first year when we had no players is 38-54. Except for the Bill Mallory era, Indiana hasn't had that kind of record in its history, so I can't get on board with Glass being nearly as bad as some would have you believe. Oh, and here's a fact for you : Tom Allen's record as head coach sits at 13-15. .464% A better % than any head coach in IU history. except Bill Mallory who was .466. You can argue the hiring process (as far as anyone here knows, and I promise neither you nor I know the whole story) wasn't handled as well as it could have been, but that's a kiddie pool shallow way to view it. There is so much more to that than simply "hiring Allen." I get it. The buck stops with Glass, but you're (the collective you) making judgments before all (and in fact MOST) of the evidence has been presented. "Your honor...I present.... " "GUILTY BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE THE WAY HE LOOKS!"

The reason I’m not concerned is that they’re completely unrelated injuries. He’s bounced back fully from his knee issue.
